i mean, I know RAM is cheap as far as components go but there's a point where you won't ever need that much unless you're datamining like a dork or some debauchery like that
future-proofing

I have a Compaq 615 and I wan't to sell it,
How much can I ask for it?

Here's an 18K I got up, a bit over budget but oh well :P

do you really want to spend $7k on SSDs alone? you could buy much nicer monitors/big TVs with the money you'd save if you went down to a smaller SSD lol

My friend payed $900 for a prebuit PC with a lower-end i7 and a 530. I don't remember how much RAM it had but I believe he could have gotten a better prebuilt. Thoughts?

2TB of SSD lol. An SSD makes your OS start up really quickly, but the acceleration on things like games is negligible. Instead of it taking a game 2 seconds to boot up it will take 1.5. Definitely not worth 7k. One 500GB SSD would be more than enough.

I think it's cheating when you spend 8k on SSDs.

if you're going to blow 18k on a computer, wait until 7990s come out and buy tons of those instead..

Just RAID two 500GB SSDs. Would be as fast as RAIDing two 2TBs, but not as expensive or excessive.

I have about $1,000 to spend but less would be better.
I already have a case, but nothing else, and I'm making a desktop computer.
Please suggest parts, preferably from Newegg.com.

I got tired of Blockland running slow on my computer, so please suggest parts for a nice gaming computer that doesn't lag upon many virtual bricks and stuff, thanks.
So you don't need a case... do you need a monitor, mouse, keyboard, speakers/headset (which one if you do need...)?

I'm assuming he has the bear-bones down, as in the case, and just the case, and he needs recommendations for CPU, RAM, Graphics Card, Video Card, Motherboard, etc.

Either/or would make a difference, considering most decent monitors go $100+, keyboards/mice ~$30-50, speakers or headset $50+ for decent ones...

I mean I bought a nice LGA1366 mobo, a Core i7-930 2.8 GHz, 6GB RAM, a 640GB HDD, a DVD drive and a GTX460 768MB with $1000.
If I had to buy my monitor, headphones, keyboard/mouse with it, I'd probably be using a lower end CPU and only 4GB RAM.
