I like Alienware PC's, but there laptops are just awful in my opinion.

Both of them are super overpriced. Get a asus gxx series if you're getting a gaming laptop.

Asus computers are really nice, even if it does cost $600 more than a desktop with the same parts.

Asus laptops are a tiny bit overpriced, yes, but nowhere near as much as Alienware or the like.
If you want good price/performance, go with something like a Lenovo. Just don't expect it to have the extreme quality and gamer orientated features of the others.
BTW check out some MSI laptops. They are a personal favorite.
