People are way too paranoid about static. As has been said, most people just touch metal to ground themselves and I've never heard of an instance where this hasn't worked.

Unless you decide to drag your feet around on a shag in wolly socks prior to, or during assembly, you won't have a problem.
okay.
What kind of monitor is a decent price but isn't crappy and is over 20"

it's LCD and refurbished, but still a pretty good deal

So im building a new PC from just the pieces for the first time, how long will this take? i have all the pieces sat right next to me. So for a first time builder should i wait for the weekend or do it now?

If you have the mobo, RAM, a hard drive, a CPU, the graphics card and the power supply then you could probably assemble it in 10 - 20 minutes at most. I haven't had to install a CPU before but I am quite sure its a quick process.

If you have a high end non-stock cooling option it can take a while longer.

I've got a CPU fan, non stock.

Well I can't comment on how fiddly it'll be. Some non stock fans are just click and go with a thermal paste already applied. Some heatsink towers can be fiddly to install and take several minutes to assemble. Still, only 20 minutes probably. Get to it! :3

I feel like im handling my baby or something, being so careful.

Picture I took earlier of everything in the boxes. NZXT Phantom 410 red, yummy. Small boxes have the optical drive, Hard drive and RAM in them The other big box has everything else.

Its good to hear you are being careful. Envy the fact you are building yours now, I still need to order two things. RAWR.

Turning it on will be a nervous moment. Be sure to post photos when it is done. c:

maybe if you're experienced, it can take hours really

maybe if you're experienced, it can take hours really

Hours?

That is crazy. Maybe if you have no motor skills and an inability to read instructions.  :cookieMonster:

Defo not.

To get all the parts right and solve inevitable posting problems it would take around an hour give or take for a first timer. Make sure you manage your cables and use a grain of rice sized dot of thermal paste. It will take more to install the OS and overclock (highly reccomended that you look up extensive guides on this you don't wana cook your electronic child). All in al, if you're thourough, might take 2-3 hours.

is there ever christmas sales or boxing day sales on newegg or whatever? If there is is it worth me waiting to buy my parts until then?
