I advice against teaming up so heavily. Don't be afraid to work on your own, you never know when it may be the only thing that saves you. Just think about how much of a target you are when you're a large force concentrated in an area. You're an easy target for lone warriors.

We have no economy in place.

You have the option of staying solo during the war, joining an alliance during the war, or forming an alliance. I recommend not joining a large alliance.
