How do you play RTS games

I like to go in hard and fast, I build all the cheapest units and attack as soon as possible.
I like to provide a slow, continious stream of attack on the enmies base(s).
I focus completley on defense and turtle myself until they send a giant wave, then attack them.
I like to focuse mainly on resources and rely on my allies to do the fighting.
I attack not very often, but when I do, I use the strongest units and try to attack their most major buildings.
Defend until I can get all the big stuff, then go try and blow everything the forget up.
I like to trick my enimies, I send a group right up the middle, then attack with multiple or one other group while they are occupied with that.
Anything ground based will do the trick for me, I just do anything.
Anything arial based will do the trick for me, I just do anything.
Anything naval based will do the trick for me, I just do anything.
I only use special units and support, I use lots of money but only produce a few units.
loving nukes.
Other (specify).
I suck at these games anyways, who needs tactics.

Author Topic: Whats your tactic in RTS games?  (Read 2698 times)

I've been wondering this after seeing how RTS games have come a bit more popular over the years. Most people just think of it like a FPS game and think that if they get the biggest of everything and send it in all at once, they will win the game. Which is sometimes the case, but usually not. So go ahead and answer in the poll.

I'm terrible at playing agains humans in rts games. I can do fine in a game's single player campaign, though.

I suck in RTSs

But I'm usually heavily defensive and then build an army later on.

Zerg rush!!
KekekKEkekEKEKEkekKEkeeke

Turtle and chill until I have bigass waves of enemies and superweapons, and then all-out blow them up.

Usually I dig in , build some defensive units and produce a huge ass army to overrun the enemy

The only RTS i've ever played is the Advanced Wars series.

What I usually do is get some infantry, mechs (stronger, slower infantry,) bikes and APCs and just capture all of the neural areas and buildings, trying to surround the enemy when I can. Then after I have a good bit of strong weapons i start pushing my way into enemy terrirory demolishing everything I see. If I can, I'll put an infantry in a transport heli and sneaky sneaky over to their HQ and cap that.

I'm terrible at RTS games because you have to know what to do super-fast and when you miss a single beat you forget yourself over in a 3-mile-deep hole.

Whatever that is.
It looks overpowered.

I like to get a good army set up before I begin to build anything expensive. In order to get protection rapidly, I make allies and have them defend me. Once I have a good line of defense, I begin to add stuff to my empire that gives more gold, population, etc. Stuff that benefits the citizens. After I've got an efficient empire, I add the finishing touches to my military by fortifying the land with walls and forts, maybe more units.

After I amass a good population, I draft a few civilians and train them to be regular soldiers. When a attack comes, I draft some of the useless population and send them in the front as meat shields. If that fails, well.
