Lol Kids Wants overpriced PCs

and because not many of us give a damn about movie editing/whatever else macs are supposed to be amazing at

Thank you for being honest in showing you aren't sure what a Mac does in comparison with a PC. This is exactly my point, you just don't know enough about them to intellectually decide whats better. Your decision is shallow and uninformed. And that is fine, just keep it to yourself.

Kids at my school: O LOL MACS CAN'T GET A VIRUSES. I've never used one, I just know that they are extremely pricey. I won't bash Apple until I use one of their products.

alternatively you could point me in the right direction

seriously what are they good at? organizing stuff? I don't understand

Living with two sisters who have MacBooks, iPads and iPhones, I've see all the fancy hardware first hand, and it looks far nicer than anything I've see Windows ship out.

Now or course I don't have a Mac because I still play games and can't afford a $1000.00 computer but both of my sisters had jobs and finished university, they now have jobs in London.
Because they use it for work more than play, they can drop the need for a flashy graphics cards and focus on function and apps/programs more than specs.

Now I'm not saying you can't work on a PC, it's just that I've seen stuff done on both. When Vista was the new thing everyone loved, my sister had a desktop with it. It was really bad and crashed tons of times. She's had her current laptop for ages with no problems as far as I know.

Then again to sum things up this is all a personal preference and all I can do is debate whether one is better and in my opinion a Mac is, though that is my opinion and I can't force that on you.
don't know about your sisters but if I just got out of college I personally wouldn't drop 1,000 on a mac. your sisters probably just saw a big shiny new mac and just got that.

so I'm not the only one that finds "Mac vs PC" ironic :cookieMonster:

im also interested in what macs are so good at.

I have two macs and two pcs. Both have they're cons and pros, but I tend to lean towards PCs for now.

Macs don't suck as a computer. They suck as a gaming machines, considering a ton of games aren't made for them.

So many kids don't know what the specs are of what their buying. They can't read that simple stuff. Mac, PC, whatever, could make some shiny new laptop with 16GB of drive space and 0.5GB of RAM, and if they advertised right, all the kids would want it.

Why do you assume a Mac is there to be "better". Whatever a company makes, that is pretty subjective beyond what hardware it has.

A Mac offers an alternative. Some people like it, and everyone has their own reason to, be it simply the design, the interface, the way in which Mac OS programs work, how the system updates, the environment for the average end user.

I used a MacBook as my main computer from 2008 to about March of this year. I currently use a Compaq now as its one of my favorite PC brands. I don't see either as more superior, Mac OS just offers an alternative that I find nicer to work in personally for writing documents, organizing photos, organizing music, doing any webdesign work, and other general tasks. In saying that I've never really liked programming in OSX outside of web design, and gaming always feels odd even after Steam (to the point I'm not interested in Mac gaming at all anymore). I also prefer web browsing in Windows currently, but that might be just because this new computer has a bigger screen lul.

My point is, Mac and PCs offer different things for different people. There is no best computer for everyone. And just because you aren't interested, don't understand, or don't want to own a Macintosh doesn't really justify calling it a terrible useless product. And I think you'll find whatever you think, Macintosh computers are acknowledged worldwide as highly successful consumer products that have changed computing. No anti-Mac sentiment will change that ever.

Icy is whiteknighting macs :cookieMonster:
