She made an error of judgement that lead to her committing a crime, sure. But its the kind of thing you regret and then move on, you'd have to be really handicapped for something like that to 'haunt' you.

Your age has been REVEALED in your posts. Pre-12 years.
For your information, I was kinda joking, I never said that would haunt ME (which it wouldnt), and I am older than 12. Accidents happen ok

Was the minivan in question particularly well-maintained?

There were big scratches on the driver-side door that I didn't cause, because I hit the rear passenger door, but besides that the paint looked kind of nice. I didn't really examine it too much, except for the spot I hit to make sure I didn't dent it, and then I drove off.

I'd say that you are safe.

He had ample opportunity to, and by the way he was nosing about I'm sure he did.

Because I'm uninsured and I committed hit and run. That's two traffic violations in one, and if the guy took down my license plate I'll be paying the consequences for both of them.

Ah, that explains it.

I just hope you get caught for being stupid and texting.

I hope you're not bullstuffting, Stocking.

This thread has made me change my opinion about you.

So you scratched the paint and you got this emotional!?

forget, what happens if you actually do some real damage, are you going to go home and kill yourself?

Again, best possible situation is to be an starfish and drive away. If there was no noticeable damage to your car then don't loving tell anyone.

And yeah, texting while backing up is the stupidest excuse for an auto-accident I've ever heard.

Let me clarify a few things using what knowledge I have of accident protocol.

For those of you saying it wasn't a hit and run:
Not true, legally if a persons car even touches another car leaving the scene is considered hit and run unless both drivers agree it is not worth informing police about.

For those saying the car owner probably won't care:
If somebody even scratched the paint of my car and decided to run I would be pretty loving pissed. I'm sorry some of you do not know the worth of vehicles or don't give a stuff about your cars, but I like having no scratches on my car. A mere chip in the paint could still be expensive to fix. For a professional to touch a scratch up the charges are usually no less than $200.

For those saying Stocking can't be tracked:
If the man who saw recorded the license plate and handed it to police they simply have to type it in their computers and they instantly have all Stocking's information.

The potential charges:
The average charge for a hit and run accident is suspension of the drivers license (Some jurisdictions may even suspend it for life) and depending on the judge possibly jail time.

The average charge for driving with no insurance is license suspension for a year, requirement to pay all costs of the accident out of pocket, and a fine ranging from $150-$500.

could be worse
you could've been like Destroyer and instead of driving away, you would have driven right into the car again. and again.
I swear you must be my biggest fan, any topics about cars and my name is always in your posts. When have I ever done what you said? No wonder nobody likes you.

So you scratched the paint and you got this emotional!?

Getting caught driving without insurance all on its own can merit a 1-year suspension of your driver's license.

Then throw in the "hit and run", which is a misdemeanor, and that'll only add onto it.

Find the van and run into it untill you're dead.  :cookieMonster:

Don't text in times when you have to concentrate. While people are walking on girders hundreds of feet off of the ground making the framework of a building, are they texting? Just some common sense.

Also I must add, why the forget would you be texting while pulling into a parking space let alone in a parking lot at all. Now I can not criticize you for texting and driving in general because I'm guilty of it myself. But when I do it I make sure I'm actually on a road and not near any cars.

The text seriously could not have waited 5 seconds for you to put the car in park?

I had it but the parking spaces are like, diagonal facing away from you and the van was like on the yellow line. T~T

So how do you hit a car in park?
