Author Topic: What is your opinion? Did you find Half-Life 2 too easy or too slow?  (Read 7746 times)

ep1 was meant to be played almost entirely without guns. but was later changed.
i would have much loved that
I believe there's an achievement for that instead

Tony, there was an option somewhere that changes the game difficulty.  You might want to use that.

I've played Half-Life 1 and 2 on hard difficulty

I'm already ahead of you on that. I'm on the hardest difficulty and it still feels easy, not once have I felt challenged or threatened by the enemy at this point.

Well, maybe it was because you played Half Life before....
Oh wait, you played HL2 first.

Well you figure a mighty force that could take over the world in 7 hours wouldn't be able to miss a shot.
They aren't the mighty force, they're humans who have been modified and turned into soldiers.

No I played Half-Life 1 first, I believe I made that quite clear. I don't think you've read.

The difficulty curve between Half-Life 1 and Half-Life 2 is just amazing, every tactic you've used in Half-Life 1 is now thrown out the window. The dificulty in Half-Life 2 has been dumbed down significantly.

Anyways here is another prime example of how easy this is. I'm up to that sand buggy with an infinite ammo crate on the back, now I am able to spam bullets without worrying about losing ammo. Normally I take my time between shots to save bullets but I don't have to worry about that here.

On top of that I'm at the drop ship Now what makes this part easy, not only is there stuffloads of health and ammo on the ground for my rocket launcher I have random rebels handing me health and ammo if I stand in one place.

Oh and as far as I know, the rebels that hand me items can't die.

If they aren't mighty then how did they take over the world in 7 hours?

The human soldiers aren't the mighty ones, they are humans after all. Whatever alien race the Combine used to invade Earth are the mighty ones, they just modified humans and turned them into a police force on Earth.

What about the soldiers in heavy armor? They aren't much of a fight either.

What soldiers in heavy armor? The Overwatch Elite?

Yeah those, I don't even have to circle strafe or cover. I usually just stand there shooting them in the head while I absorb bullets because I know how plentiful health packs are.

I think I'll do a livestream, Brickman doesn't believe I am breezing through these levels.

Ravenholm is the most unscariest, easiest piece of stuff ive ever seen. i cant believe you think its scary even a little bit. I played the loving level when i was 10, and it was not scary at all.

Do i really have to film a speedrun of ravenholm to prove you knuckleheads that it isn't even creepy?
Wow, you're so cool and hardcore. I wish I could be as cool as you and so brave.

The soldiers are actual Combine or some other auxiliary race.
Civil Protection are the humans.

The marines in Half-Life 1 were a lot harder to kill than the Combine. Being a human has nothing to do with it, the combine have no excuse either because they have more armor than the marines.

Did you just tell him his opinion was wrong?

Could someone tell me why Half-Life 2 is supposed to be the best videogame ever made or something? preferably a valve fanboy like Marcem
