I'm no doctor but hot damn stop taking Ritalin if you are presribed. I've heard nothing but bad about it. ADHD is so commonly diagnosed because it's A: Total bullstuff and B: An excuse to prescribe unhealthy drugs and rake in loads of dosh.

If I described a 10 year old as an energetic boy who doesn't want to sit still in class because he'd rather be outside running around and playing, would you say he has ADHD? Chances are the doctors would.

Seriously the pharmacies are raking in so much cash off all these drugs it's ridiculous, along with the fact that you have to pay for your health care.

Being depressed and having depression are two totally different things. Depression is considered a mental disorder and is characterized by mood swings, low self esteem, inability to cope with change, etc. Being depressed is just a synonym for being very sad, but may have a heavier psychological effect. The former you can take medication for in addition to or in place of having a variety of other means to help; the latter (Although the former as well) is what therapists are for.

the only raisin i still take my pills for adhd is because i cant sleep without them. plus i seem to get a little sidetracked during school.

a long time ago "ADHD" existed too
but up until recently we never treated it as anything more than a kid who doesn't know how to act
so nowadays we give them medication to turn them into people who can't do anything but work
there's like that metaphor or something

Getting side tracked doesn't have anything to do with ADHD, I think of unrelated things all the time during class. As for the sleeping part that's probably the depressants doing that.
