Not Quailman!

Rattman actually, but I did think of Funnie after the fact.

Yep, RIP Ivysaur, my beloved starter. A Biker's Weezing got a critical Sludge. Now that I've got Fly I don't need to worry so much about poison; one of my personal rules was no buying healing/status items and only use what I find, so I had to use poison-types to avoid having to use a precious Antidote or enough healing items that I could make it to a Pokemon Center. Unfortunately Ivysaur is gone now, but I've still got Nidorina who is quite honestly a lot better.

It's crazy how so many Pokemon in Gen 1 don't learn any moves of their own type. Voltorb/Electrode don't learn any Electric moves on their own.

Edit: And there goes Gyarados. Critical Psychic from a Hypno. forget crits. I can just catch another Magikarp from an area I haven't obtained a Pokemon from yet but it's a pain to level it up.

So many of you I'm sure are aware of Emerald Randomizer, but did you know there's a Red & Blue randomizer too? I just found out about it today and it gives you the option to randomize everything. Literally everything, crazy stuff like what TMs contain, Trainer's names and Pokemon, and even what types Pokemon are and the moves they learn. My starter was a Ghost-type Zubat that knew Shadow Punch and Peck and my first catch was an Ice-type Mankey that knows Sky Attack and Fire Punch. Grab the randomizer program here.

I have a randomiser that randomises the starting Pokemon, and what Pokemon evolve into.

So I finally got my GBASP back from my cousin as well as my Silver cart yesterday. The battery ran out on Silver somewhere between the time I last played it and the point where I lent it to him unfortunately, so I was hoping to replace it so I could play properly again. I've found out several things while trying to replace the battery:

1. It's hard as hell to open GB/A carts without a very sharp pair of needle-nose pliers or some sort of magic screwdriver.
2. G/S/C carts (and possibly the newer ones too) contain a crystal oscillator to keep track of time. Neat.
3. You have to do some soldering to change the battery. Not neat. Mostly because I don't have a soldering iron and have never used one in my life. Looks like I'll be changing both of those things soon.

In the meantime I've picked up trying to get a shiny Registeel through soft resetting in Sapphire and just passed 900 resets. Fun!

I showed the new Mewtwo form to a group of people ages 11, 13, 14, and 17 yesterday. All four of them exclaimed almost simultaneously, "it looks like a girl!"

Which kind of got me thinking; did anyone else think Mewtwo's voice in the Japanese trailer sounded really feminine?
