So I finally got my GBASP back from my cousin as well as my Silver cart yesterday. The battery ran out on Silver somewhere between the time I last played it and the point where I lent it to him unfortunately, so I was hoping to replace it so I could play properly again.

I did the same to my Ruby cartridge a while back so I could get all the time-based events in my new save. If you're nervous soldering, you can pry the solder points off with a flat screwdriver. I used electrical tape to secure the new battery, and I've had no issues since.

Pokemon Smash is going to have a big special about it on May 19th with Junichi Masuda; composer, director, and the namesake for the Masuda Method. CoroCoro may reveal some (or all) of the same information this Wednesday, too.
