It's all just counting

Each Pokemon gives a certain number of EVs for a stat per battle

So every X you defeat your Pokemon receives Y EV points for its Z stat

You can multiply/add those numbers with certain hold items, i.e. the Macho Brace

The hard part is that you dont know which pokemon gives you Y it a certain stat. That means if your away from internet, Then its going to be harder,

That way you'll only have to remember 2-3 Pokemon to battle, considering it takes awhile to fully EV train a single Pokemon you should be able to check the internet between them

Serebii also has the best place to fight to obtain EVs for each stat for the last three main games at the bottom of this page
