That would be 0 in theory, as none of the infected, or ones in contact with the infected came within 10 miles of avaloina, and instead, headed FARTHER AWAY from Avalonia.

By the way, the sick have returned to their cities, as they couldn't carry enough food for the trip. Lucky Nexia.

Your sick have a very slim chance of surviving the march into the Nexian tundra, and barbarians still control much of the area inbetween.

This gave me an idea.  Can I send sick people there to get better in public health centers?

you will not be able to survive the march there, but I propose that all our nations collaborate to fight the epidemic, but if we pooled resources and set up a sort of protected communal healthcare colony that wealthier sick people can go to for real treatment and where practicing doctors can go to study.

Nexian scholars predict that this will have not too large of an initial investment, but will increase the current (barely existant) rate of medical research by 400% throughout the world, will boost global growthrate by about 2%, reduce infection rate by about 70%, and the saved wealthier people will provide a revenue that can be used to sustain the colony.  These are just estimates for a five year projection.

Nexia volunteers to use its already established colony in the land south of Nexia.  This place is very close to Nexia, Caprica, Avalonia (going around the world east), and Sláinte.  However, it should be invested in by all nations, and each nation investing in it will have an equal claim on all research it yields, and to send doctors there to study.  Nexia does not reserve full ownership of it either.  It is to be shared by all empires.  Nexia does reserve the right, however, to keep Amnesh missionaries there to convert the nearby natives.

The trick to beating this disease is not drawing apart from one another.  We need to pull our wits together and invest in the future.

We don't know about germs, or that sickness spreads this way. Be happy that he even allows us to do that. Quarantine them etec etc

Rossiya Imperii proposes a better idea.

Kill the infected.

Nexus, your idea is nice, and I'm all for it. Except for three things:
1) You'll try to convert my people to a banned religion
2) Everyone's borders are closed, and I'm not risking even a small infraction
3) Why put our best doctors at risk of catching the disease?

No change in Avalonia. Plague has left everything important at a standstill. ilitary still hkeeps borders closed.

Nexus, make it worth my while to save the world. The plague seems to be abating a little bit, and I don't want my doctors bringing it back into Avalonia with some new strain. Give me a reason besides the good of everyone else. Locked borders seem to be doing well enough. "Luck" dictates that now another 10% will die, but I'm a businessman, and you've offered a poor investment. Sweeten the pot.

Locked borders
tens of thousands die
"doing well enough"

The point is to collaborate.  Your doctors are probably more at risk in your nation than abroad, and you are more likely to have a new strain brought into your nation via animals than people.

Also, if your people alreayd have a religion, they are not likely at all to attempt to convert to a different one.  My missionaries spend more time out in the wilderness anyway with tribes, and the fact that you are even considering them is unnecessary.

Because ancients didn't think medicine was a real thing.  You were possessed by infections demons, and died from it.  Of course this isn't going to be a center for microbiology and spinal surgery, but it will probably make it so basic medicines and prevention measures can be discovered on a reasonable timeline, instead of our history where the dark ages literally blotted out all medicine for a thousand years.  Oh, did I meantion that the dark ages were perpetuated by the black plague?  Let's avoid that.  I know I am kinda doing a 180 with what I said earlier, but disease wouldn't normally be able to spread this way in the ancient era anyway.

This solution is at least a hundred times better than keeping borders closed, especially since it has been made clear that all nations are already well infected.  It is stupid to not provide a counter measure.

Ancient forms of medicine included
Blood Letting (Most Popular) to "eliminate infection in the blood."
Spirit Healers-The whole exorcism thing
Surgery - Cutting off body parts
Apothecaries - Potion making of disgusting and repulsive ingredients.

Thats what the AOP would have done, but nobody joined :c.
Anyways mitologia will help with the infected, but this does not mean we are allys. This is purely to help our people.

In collaboration with Mitologia, the first bit of knowledge comes out of the health colony:  The disease is spread via flies, which infect mainly raw meat.

It seems that the unneeded killing of the infected people during the early stages of the disease has actually been one of the largest contributing factors to the rapid growth of it.  The bodies then were swarmed with maggots, and later hordes of infected flies were released.

Nexia recommends:
avoid eating any meat, even if the animal does not appear sick, since animals do not seem to show signs of sickness.

This knowledge is to be shared with all, but future discoveries may be kept private within the doctors of those investing in the Health Colony.

then burn them.

Very well Nexus. Avalonia keeps its borders locked, however, Avalonia's leading healers will join in with the cure effort if you'll have them.

Let it not be said that I did nothing.

The locking of the borders is now in effect with animals, as well as humans. Bodies are burned. If even a squirrel gets through, it'll be a surprise.

The US border patrol has like 100 times the capacity of you during this ancient era, and thousands of people still get through.  I think it is kinda funny you are still trying that.

The disease is already in your nation.  Locking it down just stagnates your economy and makes it so people die diseased AND poor.

Mitologia thinks they have an idea. What if we gave the infected there own country. We could still research a cure but also lead out all meat to avoid other people being infected.

It's not like its a genetic thing or something like AIDS

Its a sickness, that wouldn't accomplish anything.
