I'd see it as incredibly laggy, and it would probably get spammed quite a bit.
Sure, it's a cool thought, but I'm not entirely sure it would work out very well in-game.

sry but all the GOOD picturs dont have the mini ones that i'm looking 4
i'm lokking at the size of a jeep that ok?

'course it couldn't be realistic because a meteor the size of a jeep would blow up a football stadium, but it would be cool to have one. And if you wanted it bigger or smaller, there's always resizing the projectile.

Realistically-
A meteor the size of a jeep headed towards earth would burn up in the atmosphere into nothing.

Blockland-
A meteor the size of a jeep hitting a build would probably cause the same amount of lag that the Ion cannon has, less or more.
And trust me, it's not worth having that much lag.

The projectile doesn't need to be laggy. If it doesn't explode on impact, there would be no lag at all, in fact. It would be cool for films and such.
/support

if the radius of the explosion was double the radius of the meteor, it cant be that bad.
Its just about 3x the rocket launcher explosion which causes no lag at all.

Unless it gets spammed. Then it's a problem.

Why not just use effects?

have u ever seen a meteors dont contane explosives thare for the damage is all impact so it would not be that bad

I've never seen one in real life, and I doubt you ever had. Besides, there'd still be quite a bit of debris to deal with.

Just because something doesn't contain an explosive doesn't mean that it can't be all that bad.
When something like a meteor is moving past the speed of sound, or something around that speed, and it's about the size of a jeep or a tank, it's going to cause an explosion of force.

All that kinetic energy being stopped by the ground, then gets transferred to the ground and air, and results in a shockwave big enough to take out a chunk of a city or an entire city depending on mass and speed.

Nope. An astroid the size of a jeep could destroy a city. (Realisticly)

Realistically, that would only be applicable if the asteroid was huge before it got to earth.
Also, I looked it up a bit.
There are 2 factors that determine whether a meteorite will hit earth.
Speed(how fast it's going in the vacuum of space) and size(amount of mass/layers it has)
If it's going relatively slow, and it's big enough, it could shed a few layers and hit with a varying amount of force.
If it's going relatively fast, and it's small(jeep) it's going to burn up in the atmosphere, leaving dust particles of itself, or something like a marble size.

You know that huge crater in Arizona? I forgot what it's called, but it was caused by an asteroid the size of a train car. And it's not the size of a city.
