tell her to cut it off while shes using the internet then.

i got rid of both anti-viruses

and everything worked perfectly.

i win.

lol mcafee
i had that a few years ago, it was complete stuff.

it could easily find the viruses, but the program was so loving stuffty that for half the viruses it couldn't delete them. yup, that's right, an anti-virus program that can't even get rid of the viruses it finds. i would have to go manually searching around the computer's files for the corrupted files (which were usually buried in 30 folders) to delete them. mcafee would start to download updates whenever the forget it felt like, and it would window anything running fullscreen to helpfully tell you that it has downloaded an update and you should probably restart the computer, like now.

KASPERSKY'S 4LYF

I got Norton and it works fine.

nothing has ever went wrong with Norton for me.

I love you, Norton.

just wait till you try to run servers, modify settings, or adjust anything.

malwarebytes and avira antivirus

i just use Common Sense
works pretty well

I read "McAfee or Norton" and began to laugh before coming in.
Yeah, those antivirus providers should rename their software to anticomputer.
I use Camodo.

Is this related to me not being able to get on the Owner profile?

Actually never is a problem for me. McAfee seemed like garbage, but norton is just fine on whatever I do.

idiotic, and dangerous.

viruses and trojans can infect trusted websites with no outward sign. when i was without an antivirus for about a week (changing from bitdefender to kaspersky's), i was browsing only my regular sites (facepunch and wikipedia). when i installed kaspersky's, it found a keylogger (and some other minor spyware) hidden on my system, which had wormed its way into my computer through an infected advert on facepunch.

i've gotten virus warnings on the microsoft website - common sense is not enough unless you have the superhuman ability to constantly monitor your network traffic - expected versus actual network, to determine what is going in and out of the system.

the only thing you need is Malwarebytes

if you avoid doing stupid things, you wont get viruses

if you scan regularly with this, YOU WONT HAVE VIRUSES.

Malware-Bytes and Microsoft Security Essentials all the way.
