When they dropped that bombshell I was shocked, but yet I could see it coming, I want a white one though, I think I'll buy it hoping for a ambassador program 2.
This time, it's in a reasonable price range, so don't expect one.

Believe it or not, this is actually what many 3DS fans wanted.

I have a revolutionary idea: how about they make something that average people will actually want.

If they make a tablet they may get more customers than their target customer range of 3-15 years old.

But then the gaming fans, which is a ton of people, will complain about Nintendo missing out on button layouts, which Nintendo has been doing for the past 30 years.

I highly doubt anybody will care about buttons when the screen is 10x bigger than any Nintendo device before it, and devs who develop for Android and iOS will start to make games for it that aren't weaboo extreme.

I do, and many other people.  Tablets and Smartphones are just generally not made for responsive controlling games.  I like the feeling of a game system's buttons under my thumbs.

Then duct tape a controller on to the back of it.

Well, enough feeding the troll.
This game is coming out the same day as New Super Mario Bros. 2, which seems like an interesting game.

is there an actual release date for paper mario sticker star yet? :c

Yeah, my hands feel cramped too, but it's a richard move if you ask me

I guess it would be a poor business move to release the XL at the same time as the original, but...ugh

I guess I might get one, I mean I have two ds lites, I could sell both and only get 40 bucks for them.

Nintendo had one of its "Nintendo Direct" things, both for Japan and North America, I missed most of Japan's and NA's was boring as hell.
However, overall it gave two interesting pieces of news.

First: Nintendo 3DS XL

90% bigger screens
Better Battery Life
4 GB SD Card

Release: August 19th
Price: $199.99

i'm surprised they didn't add the second controller pad

Second: New Japanese Animal Crossing 3DS trailer. It'll be released in 2012 for Japan, hopefully that includes NA too.
NEVER SAW THIS COMING
NOPE
TOTALLY DIDN'T
inb4 3ds lite

Also, my 3DS has been catching dust ever since I got a Samsung Galaxy S2 smartphone a few months ago, is there anything worth getting for the 3ds now?

I'm just waiting for Paper Mario Sticker Star at this point

Should I trade in my 3ds to a game store other than gamestop to get some cash for the XL, or should I just keep my current 3ds?

Also aph, I'm really excited for animal crossing 3ds.

They should make it you can UPGRADE your 3DS to a XL at the stores.

EDIT: Plus i called it.
