Who're ARES's rivals?

Also, 'tis the Milky Way galaxy, right?

aaaaa i need to write this stuff

and were not?
No! We're cool and lovey!

Get some writing practice by fixing the op!

i used to be admin on cumrags server. i am historical significant feature.

sorry for the poll am i to be a soldier on the ship or the ship itself

Haha you can also use 10 barrel 2-foot diameter miniguns.
As in every barrel is 2 foot wide.

>ARES Universe

That's so awesome I think I'm going to make canon for this

Lasweapons tend to be the most reliable. They take the form of infrared beams that release a lot of heat on contact, melting through alloys easily. Issue is, their energy is easily absorbed by shields. Particle weapons, like the Wave guns on the mercury and danube, are immensely powerful. Something something ionized particles something something, particle beams require vast amounts of energy to fire, but deliver incredible amounts of damage. R&D is currently developing miniaturized particle weapons, dubbed Beam cannons. Railguns are pretty much the current go-to weapon on all ships. Extreme kinetics can damage both shields and armor at the same time, and are relatively easy to carry ammunition for. Missiles are really a mixed bag, it depends on what you load them with but if you use them wisely they're incredibly useful. Most ARES ships maintain point defense missile batteries but the Ares flagship maintains 12 VLS nuclear missile tubes.
When it comes down to it I think we need to get together all past blockland sci-fi and make one general "Blocko Space". We set up colonies, races, technologic theories, operations of the ship manuals, ideal ships for rp reasons, organizations, ect. We could mix these in server wise with the tdms being battles parts of the fleet go through. Role Plays can be more organized with knowing how systems work we can set up jobs. (not jobs as in engineering but jobs as in core moderation.)
Currently I think we should set up 6 ships to make in the future and work on over the course of the summer. We could start soon enough and get 1 done a little bit in to summer beginning. 1 over the course of the summer. than we finish the year with one last ship. We do the same processes in 2014 for that years line (yes ship line each year we have a line of ships). Now planning ahead far into the distance might not be the way we roll but setting up projects like this will help give us stuff to show off. Anyways lets make a ship soon once I can find a new driver to begin to start off the building season.

Class Name: Centaurus
Hull Classification: Battleship/Whatever ARES hull classes go up to
Length: too lazy
Planned Armament:
-Primary: 3 to 4 Triple Heavy Railguns
-Secondary: 6+ Dual Light Railguns
-Tertiary: Missiles, VLS or otherwise
-AA: Flak, Lasgun CIWS
ECM: Plasma Flares
Speed: Really slow (What is the average speed in the ARES Universe?)
-Jump Capable

EDIT: Mildly inspired by the Talos in the EVE Universe. Front hook thing will get redone,
What is the Jump Speed in the ARES Universe?

You never thought you would have to come up with lore for a clan, didn't you Com?

Comr4de. You should put all of that cluster of what Phantom said into the OP. Once you start another rp just tell non-members to look at the OP and read it so that everyone is on the same page as the Rp's technology. It would be easier that way so not everyone is confused upon joining the server and they can jump right into roleplaying instantly.

I was actually considering a small wiki for people to reference

you should also put me in Op
and dont link to my RTb profile because my past names are really embarrassing :(

its ok mine are too

(What is the average speed in the ARES Universe?)
The normal speed is 6su, su or Sector Units. A sector unit was developed when the floating cities on Jupiter were created. There is 8 sectors in Jupiter making the length of a sector 71,492 km. 71,492 is one su. So the standard speed is 428,952 km. Ships seem to go alot slower in battle because in fact, they do. Protocol dictates that a captain slows down his ship so more energy can be pumped to the shields and the gunners have a better chance of accuracy. If you question the moving "space chases" those exist since both ships are moving at the relative same speed so the angle the gunners have never really changes. A fighter goes .25 su. They can not outrun a normal battle-cruiser. A slower vessel would be heading at 2 su. A quicker one 14 su. The quickest recorded speed is 23 su.

A hyperspace jump is exactly what the word directs. "hyper" implies over or above. A hyperspace jump works by the ship creating a neutronic field around the ship. When the neutrons reach a high enough speed a emp is released through the thrusters. when it makes contact with this shield an explosion occurs around the ship that tears a hole in space and enters the ship into hyperspace. Hyperspace is a blank void, along with that time is alot slower and all mater move at a much higher rate. The higher rate of which mater moves allows a ship to go across space in a timespan that should taken decades. Once at the needed point a ship renters by sending two more emp's to the shields which then shuts them down. This creates a second portal and brings the ship back into the physical universe. Theres alot more to it with how the shield is formed and the special type of emp's but that just gives me a headache.

If you need a shorter reference-

Battle speed- .3333 su
Fighter speed- .25 su
Slow speed- 2 su
Standard speed- 6 su
Fast- 14 su
Fasted speed recorded- 23 su
FTL speed- 3 su (read how the whole thing works)

Wait, why not warp theory? Wouldn't it be easier to travel?
