I need halp with a starship design. I need ideas of what to put in the humanities deck. Basically, every facility that the crew needs to survive is here. So far I have hydroponics, air filtration, and water treatment. The primary control systems for these facilities are in engineering. I need preferably two or three more rooms to completely fill the deck. Ideas? :c
Now lets think this over. To live a person needs food, air, and water. You have 2 of these three. So you will need a mess hall. But the food must be prepared so you will also need a galley. Then there is the fact it must be stored beforehand so you will need a cargo bay for the food. Also once it is done being eaten the waste and waste of the player will need to be disposed of. So it will also need either a disposal unit or an incinerator. When it comes to the player disposing waste a bathroom will needed to be put in place. To keep all of these systems operating in the case of a critical failure will be a back up core. Pumps for getting the water around along with other pipes for storing the electrical cords that transfer the power. To make sure bones do not deteriorate in space there will need to be a artificial gravity generator.

Things listed here:

Mess hall
Galley
Cargo bay for food storage
Disposal unit
Bathrooms
Pumps for water travel
Pipes for holding electrical cords
Artificial Gravity generators so bones do not deteriorate.
Back up core for mainly life support in the case of a critical failure with the main core. The back up core will also only send power off to the life support systems.

Now since you only need three rooms and this is just the systems put in disposal unit, back up core, and food storage.

Also, You need a cook for the mess hall. Nobody wants to eat grub before going to battle.
The chef aboard my new vessel is actually Gordon Ramsay.  :cookieMonster:

Silly leprechaun you cook in the galley you eat in the mess hall.

Silly leprechaun you cook in the galley you eat in the mess hall.
*runs away in shame and locks himself in the galley with Ramsay where he can make his own food*
You''ll see! You'll ALL see!

Oh...whoops

Mess hall Located on the Crew Deck along with quarters.
Galley Located on the Crew Deck along with quarters.
Cargo bay for food storage  Located on the Cargo Deck.
Disposal unit Good idea
Bathrooms Will be dispersed throughout the ship.
Pumps for water travel Mostly automated, included with water treatment and storage facility.
Pipes for holding electrical cords Definitely
Artificial Gravity generators so bones do not deteriorate. This goes in the Engineering Deck
Back up core for mainly life support in the case of a critical failure with the main core. The back up core will also only send power off to the life support systems. All critical systems are shielded with physical and electrical barriers and are routed through triple-redundant bypass circuitry. While a secondary Core is mostly unnecessary, if I still have space to fill I will take it into consideration.

Having thought about it, I think I'll move the mess hall to the Humanities Deck to make room for more crew bunks.  Thanks for your help.

A few more additions to add to Bester Bageler's list:

Sonic detonators
To maintain morale, it is best to reduce the impact of a heated argument on the rest of the crew, particularly in the immediate area. A SD system can dampen raised voices to near-silence to significantly reduce the negative social effect on the crew, and to call in security or senior personnel to deal with the uprising.

Environment psychological replenishment chamber
Even nice, fancy, luxurious ships such as the USS Enterprise suffer from gradual morale loss; an environment chamber with the appealing ambiance of tropical rain forests with heavy rainfall and breezes makes an excellent replenishment for psychological wellbeing. An actual environment box for this is recommended, but a holoprojection chamber/holodeck will suffice.

Entertainment center
A functioning entertainment district, including board games, friendly competition, and performance greatly subtracts monotony.

Ambiance emitters
Depending on the mode of propulsion and the modes of other systems around the ship, the ship and/or its engines may or may not produce noise; some may hum, others a distant, low pitched rumble/thunder/roar, but some may be completely silent. If the ship or any habitable part of it is totally silent in its operation, it is best to lull the corridors with some pleasant form of ambient sound while there is no emergency/alarm. It is a tested and proven fact that total silence is an actual psychological danger; lack of sensory input causes the brain to generate its own, inducing hallucinations, which can eat away at morale and heighten superstition, which can and has lead as far as Self Delete and murder in long-term flights.

Hope this helps.

I really like that last one

So did the server crash, or do we have a rule about no wip ships?

So did the server crash, or do we have a rule about no wip ships?
No wip ships, so if you do not make progress while at the server it shall be cleared, considering us admins rarely ever visit the server if its not done it will be cleared. That's why I no longer build on the server.

The server crashed. Often some stuff will be reloaded to keep the server clean. You can just reload the previous wip project as long as it isn't a butt ton.

Since when was "no WIP builds on the server" a rule? Now you guys are just making excuses.

I'm going to start clearing incomplete stuff from the server. It kind of detracts from what we have intended.
We have been clearing WIP builds when little progress is made on them. Since we rarely visit the server we do not save making less progress get done on ships. Along with that we do not know what happened or how long a build has been there so it might be cleared when its only a few hours old. So one of the following needs to happen:
A. We repeal the "no WIP" act
B. We force all players to mark when they started and last worked on a build
or
C. We do A and become active so we only clear things we know won't get finished.

Till a better solution can be devised, I'm repealing the No-WIP rule. Obviously all other related rules (such as No-Spam) are still in effect.
