Author Topic: What do you guys know about scar tissue, needle sterilization and shrapnel?  (Read 3153 times)

the glass should have been out for quite a while by now, if it happened twelve years ago
which is why I've assumed that it isn't still inside him

Still, it is important that he gets it checked out and if they see it in there, I recommend getting the surgery.

That seemed pretty obvious because it can't heal around a sharp mirror shard. If I move around too much I feel it scraping against my insides.
that's
that would seriously bother me
given the new situation where it is still in your body, go to a doctor to have it removed
glass moving around inside your leg probably isn't healthy at all
cutting things and such

Well if it gets infected from the safety pin I'll probably be forced to go to the hospital.

you should go to the hospital anyway

I now coincidentally feel like I have a fever.

I am probably imagining it though because everytime I read up symptoms online I feel like I caught something each time.

The further the needle went in it felt like I was piercing another layer? It was like piercing an onion that had a few layers hollow in between.
jesus christ
cringed hard

Strangest thing that happened when I stuck the needle in the scar.

I felt almost nothing, there was no pain. If I tried to prick other areas of my skin it would hurt.

No blood
You're obviously not human, burn him.

I had my kneecap replaced about two months ago due to a football injury that happened almost 4 years ago.

At the time, they told me the best they could do was remove a tendon in my knee and hope my knee would work.
Well it worked okay, but I still had problems from my kneecap.

So I finally decided medical expertise had to advance some in the past four years,
When I got to the doctor, they told me that it would easily be fixed with a replaced kneecap.

OT:
You should probably have a medical examiner look at it and suggest what to do, in the past 12 years you'd be supprised how many medical advancements they've made.

That sounds awful. The worst I've done is stab myself with a mechanical pencil a centimeter in, nothing bad.

All I know about is the needle sterilization. But I'm not familiar with the rest.

Just go to the ER instead of asking us. :/

What is this ER?

I've heard of A&E but not ER.

emergency room

It's scar tissue, it doesn't have as many nerves or capillaries as normal skin. It's also tougher due to larger cells. The scar tissue goes down as far as the cut does/did.
