Author Topic: What do you guys know about scar tissue, needle sterilization and shrapnel?  (Read 3147 times)

OT:
You should probably have a medical examiner look at it and suggest what to do, in the past 12 years you'd be supprised how many medical advancements they've made.

They tried removing it with rubber tipped tweezers and that didn't work.

Then the doctor said that it may just come out on his own, yeah right lol.

It's scar tissue, it doesn't have as many nerves or capillaries as normal skin. It's also tougher due to larger cells. The scar tissue goes down as far as the cut does/did.

Sorry about your luck.
Best idea I can think of is to extend your leg fully and pull that motherforgeter out yourself.

I'm assuming the entire area is just scar tissue.

I would know if the area was dead by now. It doesn't take 12 years to notice that a chunk of your leg is dead.

Yes, it has also probably thickened or calcified the shard so it can't cause more damage. Also, when you die your skeleton will have
A shard under it if you don't remove it.

In my microbiology class, dipping our tools in alcohol and then burning the alcohol off by quickly running it through a Bunsen burner was good. I never took any other classes even remotely medical related, so I don't know if that was sufficient for your use
But you should have sterilized the skin before puncturing, like wiping it with an alcohol soaked gauze pad or something.

The mirror shard would have dirtier than the needle, and it sounds like that didn't cause any problem.
I'd just keep an eye on the area, like if you notice any pain, or if it looks different than usual.

But why were you checking for pus 12 years later? Why are you risking an infection in order to check for an infection?

I don't, none of this has bothered me besides that whole "scraping my insides" thing, and that went away pretty quick
there's only a few things that make me get about sick, and the main one, I don't think I'll ever be dealing with it
looking up "trypophobia" on google images tends to make the tab not last long

Is that the hole phobia?

I just imagin things like that well enough it almost hurts

at least mentally

Is that the hole phobia?
yeah it's pretty gross
it doesn't bother me if it's not biological though
so like beehives are nothing

I have had a thing like this on my finger. Idk just get it checked out by a doc

That tiny needle hole I pricked my scar with should had healed by now but it didn't.

When I was a kid I felt the cut and there was a sharp object sticking out and I didn't tell anyone until it healed over.
