Are you handicapped?  This isn't about removing religion, its about separating Religion from State.

I believe that is called a secular state? I support that idea.

America is overly religious IMO. Its ingrained in the culture and history. Now that is fine, but when you have Christian politicians getting votes because of his / her belief, while also implying hostility to other religions (as we've seen this campaign with a certain someone) that is just iffy.

Its not really my place to say though since I don't live there, but there should be a neutral stance to be fair to everyone. Its like when you take an oath you can do the religious version or the non-religious version (at least you can here anyway). One religion shouldn't contaminate everything in a country in today's world.

America is overly religious? Yeah right. Most christians don't know anything about their religion. They just like screaming "Jesus saves you!"

Of course, I don't mean all christians.

I'm a Christian and this is the truth :c

It shouldn't matter if a dollar says or doesn't say "in god we trust" on it. This is one of the most useless petition ever.

I think religious people read the title as "Remove God from America" Petition on Whitehouse.gov and didn't bother looking at anything.
Being a provocative starfish is fun!

That's definitely true, but that doesn't mean the country isn't overly religious. It just means that most of the religious people are hypocrites.

Its a violation of the constitution and everything this country was founded on.

Religion in America is for some reason considered a core part of family values. Or at least that is how the world sees it.

Try Googling "why is religion so important in america" or something.

The people who founded the country thought it was a good idea, but I do agree that it is a violation.

For most "Christian" families it's really not.  They're just atheist who may or may not go to church some times.

separation of church and state. I'll sign this. not to mention e pluribus unum sounds way better

SMF seems to have problems with a few symbols in URLs, which is also why a lot of Twitter links break
it's a rather easy thing to fix

I think the English version sounds better then the Latin, personally.

I told my dad this.
His response: "You let them paki's into the country, this is what happens."
...
My dad is tribal.

There are more important things to do. :/
