I don't see very much justification for calling both of us handicaps. Me? Maybe, as I said before I've been in enough conversations with Bolster where he disagreed with me on just about everything, so he might think I'm stupid. As for Swat I see no justification, and so I'd have to assume you said that out of dislike, not the opinion that we're stupid.
I never questioned anyone's intelligence.  The desire to learn is wisdom.  Wisdom =/= Knowledge.

In fact, the reason I (among a great many other people) am/are Christians is because I/we have seen both sides of the argument and have considered one to be more convincing.

If you do not believe or are not convinced because you think or say "I don't want to believe in an invisible floating god in space that smites anyone who disobeys him" or anything along the lines of how the Bible does NOT present it, then this is narrow-mindedness.  You are then choosing to not believe in something entirely different from Christianity.

(worth the watch)

Nothing will draw me from my faith.

Science thrives on bias.  Ask any professional.
Open-mindedness is defined as willing to view both sides without bias.  I experienced both sides.  I know what it's like.  Not going back.

this is narrow-mindedness

Rather ironic that you've just done what you were preaching about.

Rather ironic that you've just done what you were preaching about.
Being certain of something he believes doesn't make him narrow minded. If I was sure 2+2=4 but there was some new big long and complicated concept that was thought to prove otherwise, I would never believe it. Does that make me narrow-minded? no, all it means is that I'm certain of what I believe.

Rather ironic that you've just done what you were preaching about.
Yet I have said more than once that I have seen and experienced both sides.  Also, that video is from a certain viewpoint, and is not valid brown townysis.

Yeah see this is what I hate about arguments. Things get convoluted really fast.

lol yeah, unfortunately.

By that I think he meant the "science" of the Big Bang & evolution

Being certain of something he believes doesn't make him narrow minded. If I was sure 2+2=4 but there was some new big long and complicated concept that was thought to prove otherwise, I would never believe it. Does that make me narrow-minded? no, it makes me certain.
See this is why i think you're both idiots.

Let me explain what has just happened:
He talked about open mindedness
I linked him to a video explaining the true definition of open mindedness
He refused to watch the video and justified it with "Nothing will draw me from my faith"

It's a near perfect example of narrow/closed mindedness. Being certain means you're certain. Rejecting all other sides of an argument before you even examine them is narrow mindedness.

No, Evolution is a theory.  Let's not bring that up.

No, Evolution is a theory.  Let's not bring that up.
well technically it's closer to a hypothesis than a theory, but yeah, I'd rather not go into that. If we did then we'd probably be at this for hours and I gtg to bed in an hour..  :cookieMonster:

Also Bolster, I believe the reason for ignoring that video is because most people know what the phrase "open minded" means. And as soon as you start that video it's easy to tell that it was made with preconceptions already in mind.

I have said several times and indicated that I have seen BOTH SIDES.  Do I have to keep waving this flag around?

By your own logic, you are narrow-minded because you are convinced that Christianity is false AND because it can be only viewed that Christianity is narrow-minded and can not be thought of in any other way.

So is the bible.

What is with religious people and there pseudo knowledge when it comes to science?

It's a theory, through and through. The theory of evolution. Not hypothesis, theory. I seriously can't get how you two can think you're making a solid case.

You are both the definition of narrow mindedness. Try watching the video I linked, it pretty much predicts you're entire arguement when it comes to your faith.
