Tip: Don't go Quas Exort.

It's bad.
But Exort Quas is one of the strongest ways to play Invoker how can you say it's bad?

You have heavy teamfight nukes, strong ganking abilities and as long as you have 1 point in wex you still have reliable disables and escapes. Cold snap is still effective at lower levels of quas, deafening blast is the same distance at all levels and the disarm length isn't the most important part of it, forged spirits are dangerous when you drop them on a support hero, and the only other spells that really suffer are the EMP/Tornado combo.

In the right hands you're going to melt faces while being one of the strongest heroes at every part of the game. You also make up for your miserable base damage with the exort bonuses, so you can trade hits more effectively.

EMP/Tornado is still good against the right heroes but you end up with a smaller effective spell pool for damage when you have low levels in exort.

It's the weakest build of his.

It's not very helpful for the team. Though the early ganking potentional is nice, it can still be done better with Quas Wex if put in the right hands.

Quas Exort just scales poorly later on.

For someone with a ton of experience I don't get how you can even say that but at this point I'm not going to bother arguing.
Anyway, big video on stuff by Merlini, watch it if you have the time.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=vBzbokoYTvk

It just scales the worst is all. It scales off too early.

EDIT: Thank you for showing that video, Proog. I cannot for the life of me help explain anything about Dota to anybody, I'll just use this instead.

I still gotta get used to shift-queueing. By that I mean I need to use it, period.

EDIT: watched the Merlini vid, rethought some of my hotkeys, but I already knew I need to use A/S/H a lot more.

Finally have an opinion on autoattack on/off, I've had it off for a while but I feel like it's hurt me more than anything.

whats the best counter to riki, hero-wise?

http://dota2counter.com/search.php?search=Riki

Slardar
Bounty Hunter
Zeus
Doom Bringer
Faceless Void
Bane
Anti-Mage
Shadow Shaman

Riki is pretty damn easy to counter, You don't even need to see him to kill him, I've killed a few just with death prophets bats.

Every time I play I seem to be playing Tidehunter :(

forget it, next match I'm insta-locking Skeleton King and getting shat on. And I won't care.

itp: what happens to the mic icon when you BLACK HOOOOOOOLE

I got shat on as Skeleton King.

Except...I DID care.

Not only is BH a great counter to Riki I find he is much more helpful to the team.

We met up with Chex and his friends in a game.

I regret nothing.

We actually got stomped even worse next game.

You're awesome at making people feel better.
