You don't have that much armor or survivablity in team fights, you'll be crushed quickly. Refresher is situational if anything, but His mana capacity is so low, he probably can't afford it until later levels when more stats are gained.

Though it may be a fun build, it's more of a 1v1 build, unless you have a BKB. I'd say just let somebody else get vlads because you'll have the aura bonus, and then get your own lifesteal from a Satanic if you wish.
No survivability? What about attacking super fast due to the armlet and healing yourself for 61% of all damage dealt? What about literally coming back from the dead? The armor is a slight issue but a simple Medallion of Courage fixes that and helps your mana. If you're looking at a late game situation, just grab an AC.

if you don't build a BKB then against any good composition you'll just get cc'd and squished.

The biggest issue with Leoric is his survivability. Sure, you may be attack fast, but without BKB, you'll easily get locked down. You may come back to life, sure, but their CC might be off cooldown. To stack onto that, if theri carry is doing better, he'll win by far.

If you're against most carries, they will have a Diffusal Blade, making it so you may end up losing all your mana to reincarnate.

Think about the build for a moment with what you say;

Boots of your Choice
Armlet
Vlads
Satanic
Heart
BKB or AC

You'll be lacking a ton of armor if you build BKB, but you'll be lacking armor. If you build AC, you have more armor, but the lack of ability to fight, guaranteed, due to CC. You'll have health, and damage, but if you aren't full prepared for a teamfight, you'll just get destroyed. That's why I'm saying give Vlads to somebody else. It doesn't benefit Leoric, it would work better on somebody else. Lifesteal isn't the best orb to give him really either, since he already has his own built in lifesteal that scales quite well with damage.

Basically I'm saying there are 2 unnecessary items because they aren't very beneficial to him compared to other items. To stack onto that, some items just might be better overall against a certain team.

It could be used as a "fun" build, but I don't see that much power in it either way besides getting life back from a hit. The thing is, you need to build to be ready to hit, so you'll be needing to spend maybe even more time away from your team, which just isn't as good. It's too problematic.

Okay, that suggested item build is a little luxury and would probably only be gotten in a late game situation, so here's a budget build that can be assembled in 15 minutes or less:

Boots Of Speed (450)
Morbid Mask (900)
Medallion of Courage (1075)
Armlet (2600 but can be skipped if you're not that farmed)
Someone else's or your Vlads (2050)

You could gradually improve this by turning the Mask into a Satanic and picking up a Heart or a Skull Basher or something and finishing a BKB. I guess you could turn the Medallion into an AC if you feel you need it. Please note that I am not trying to say the stacked lifesteal build is an effective or even useful build, but if you're in a pub one day and random Skeleton King it could work.

I know, but even in a pub it doesn't seem like a working build. Anyways, Medallion should be built on your support (it's usually a better option), and if you're doing good in the farming department, get a Midas and start roaming the jungle (since you have built in lifesteal). I'd say build the Armlet first as it's more effective, and not too pricey, then get a morbid mask. You'll want damage first. So with that:

Power Treads (1400)
Hand of Midas (1900) [+190 Gold per 100 seconds]
Armlet (2600)
Helm of the Dominator [If you want] (1850)

Of course this would take more time to build, but it's a bit more efficient and you wouldn't need to spend as much time farming.

Hand of Midas is not worth it unless you can farm one up quickly, and you're better off spending the money on the essentials first. SK doesn't even need a Midas anyway. The attack speed can help him but you'd be better off going Hyperstone into an AC. I forgot all about HotD, which would be a better item than Morbid Mask. I didn't include Power Treads because I wanted the smallest amount of gold spent. Medallion is amazing on any hero. Unless you're laning with someone who already has one or plans to have one, picking one up can never hurt. It's dirt cheap too.

meh. this weird lifesteal sk thing is kind of like rushing vlads on ursa.

maybe good in pubs, but overall not really.

I thought rushing vlads on ursa is important since it let's you do rosh.

Yeah, getting Vlads allows you to solo roshan but sometimes it's better to just stay in lane and buy other items. An Ursa should pick up a Vlads eventually though.

The only hero you should rush Vlads on is Lycan.

yes but you lose so much potential by rushing vlads.

Skeleton King needs a Shadow Blade and an Ethereal Blade.

So with the whole win-win-lose pattern with my matches, I think it's safe to try a new hero every 3 games. It's been a year and I haven't played every hero (currently implemented) yet. I'm actually surprised I have more wins than losses.

I do want to play Phoenix though.

I was trying to think of sort of experimental builds for slark

From what I can tell hes a ganker first, then semi-carry second.

There are much better regular carrys so he should focus on loving stuff up once he hits six

Its hard to imagine a proper build, seeing as he is so fragile.

And by the time you rush any defense item its kind of late to be ganking for the most part.

But in theory, I kind of imagined a build that went something like Treads/Phase Boots->Dagon->bkb->Heart/HoodofDefiance/Etheralblade/DagonDagonDagonDagon

I don't think it would work in the least bit

But I was running with the way most people play him nowadays which is leveling dark pact first, and running more with a magic oriented build.

Maybe like a Rod of Atos for defense? That cripple would really rape as well.

Idk just theory crafting
