thought it was chris'?

thought it was chris'?

I killed the guy who had it, and took it for a day. The next day (yesterday technically now), Chris killed me and then borrowed it to save it, then was going to give it back to me until we all died. Then you took it, and now I finally have it back lol

I decided to play by myself and had a rather fun time, felt my story was worth writing.
Quote
While on my travels I discovered a medical outpost in the distance. The one they mentioned on the radio, I'm sure of it. I can see plenty of motion all around it, but their actions seem sporradic and random, I doubt there is anyone left alive there. But what choice do I have? My supplies will barely last me through the rest of the day at this rate.
Without waiting for my common sense to kick in I began inching my way over there. The closer I got the more they appeared, lifeless lumbering husks that had once been people, but the potential prize could easily be worth it. I just had to stay low and take my time, half way there I noticed a man just outside the camp. Taking caution I continued towards him, he didn't seem to be moving much.
I got within sixty metres of him and heard a cry of pain. Zombies don't make noises like those, I quickened my pace assuming he had been hurt. But I was wrong. As I reached the far wall of the outpost I saw this man run down the road, hachet in hand. Having lost interest in him, partially from the realization that he was armed and might not be friendly if approached, I started to crawl my way around the camp wall. Searching for some way to get in besides the road in front where I'd be a sitting duck for zombies and renagades alike. It didn't take long to find a section that had not been smothered in barbed wire. Stepping over the sandbag wall I began causiously investigating the camp. I could only see one zombie so I kept my eyes up as I checked the tents, tent after tent, disappointment after disappointment. After a while I came to the realization that the camp had already been looted. I found myself cursing through my teeth at the man who got here before me as I continued my seach.
Climbing the ladder to the last unchecked part of the camp I carelessly put too much weight on a loose step which proceded to break with a resounding crack that, I'm sure, can be heard from a great distaince away. I quickly remember the single zombie who I had seen when I first entered the camp, I lift myself up to the top of the ladder and to my surprize I am greeted by supplies, I take what little time I have to grab the few handfuls I could before noticing the zombie had reached me, standing at the ladder clawing for my life.
I stand there thinking for a moment before realizing that the zombies outside the camp have all noticed me as well and had started clawing their way through the barbedwire. its true what they say about these things, nothing stops them. Without wasting any time to think, I act; Leaping off the top of the post and landing my foot on the zombies head. I kick back to get past him and begin sprinting, vaulting over the sandbags again I run, soon enough theres a swarm of them behind me, this may have been a mistake.
I run into a residential area and leap over a few low fences. This seems to be slowing them down, but not by much.
I turn a corner and I'm nearly grabbed by one that heard the rest. Startled, I ram my shoulder into him and keep running. That encounter didn't slow me much but there are more zombies showing up, I had to lose them somehow. After another minute or two of running I begin to tire and start looking for way to lose them, To my left theres an endless ocean. To my right a high concrete fence. Ahead and behind are zombies. Theres no real choice here. The fence is nearly ten feet high and I'm gonna have to pull myself over somehow, but it seems a better option than the other directions.
I get to the fence and take the leap, both arms extended to grab the top. Grab! I somehow  managed, I begin pulling myself over when suddenly I feel something grab my ankles from below. They'd caught up to me. I try to kick it off but lose my grip and soon crash on my back  infront of them, in that moment I honestly thought it was the end, but just then I the sun hit my eye from the concrete wall, there was an opening in the bottom, just barely large enough for me, without thinking I Dive off the top of the wall and roll under the next section. Managing to evade the zombies for now. On the other side of the wall I jump up and keep running, I had just cheated death, and wasen't about to wait around for it to offer a rematch.
After I passed the wall I began to slow and take caution again, in this world one mistake could very well be your last. I keep walking south and after a few hours I reach the harbor, not seeing any zombies I make my way to a shed in the far corner of the harbor, maybe there was something I could use in it. it was getting dark and it was probably about time to start looking for a place to stay for the night as well.
I reach the shed and to my surprize the door was already open, peeking in I notice a man laying face down in the corner.. a hacete lay beside him, could this be..? it was the same man from earlier!. I approach silently and kick his foot, he doesn't respond. I roll him over and see that he's dead, from the looks of it he had been bitten, Only a matter of time before he turns. I grab his hachet from beside him and close the door, I check his corpse and only find a wallet, inside the wallet he only had a twenty dollar bill and his license. Adam.. that was the mans name, 24 years old, doesn't look like he ever married. after that I set his wallet on his chest, leaving it open so anyone who came across him could see the license, the best funeral I could give the man. I then sat there for an hour or two before he started awakening, I'm still not sure what to call this moment, the turn?. Anyway, I stand up and tower of this.. former adam, I raise the hachet "No more tears." I said right before swinging and destorying his brain, no man should have to wake after death. I leave the shed, it was turning dark, I knew I had to find someplace to stay for the night, all the excitement of the day was really dragging on me.
Venturing into the dark of the city I keep my eyes open for anywhere that could provide a safe night of sleep. A sudden dim flash of light from somewhere gets me curious, soon enough that light starts flashing and I begin seeing a pattern in the flashes, it was morse code.. I hurry to get a better look ,I come across some stairs and look to where they lead, an old catwalk stood high above me and appeared to lead to the roof of the building, I climb the stairs and run up to the top of the building, I can see the light flashing in the distance but its still to far, there were two water tanks with a ladder leading to the top, perfect. I climb the ladder and make it to the top, from here I could see far into the night, the flashing light was coming from a mountain several miles north. I quickly pull out my flashlight and try to remember any morse code, the only thing I could remember was SOS, so I try for it, I quickly flash SOS through morse in the direction of the forest and wait for a moment, another flash from that direction told me that there was certainly someone up there. I step back towards the ladder and am greeted by the sound of zombie growls below me, this could be harder than I thought. I look around a bit to look for some other way down, to my luck there was another ladder on the other watertank, it was within jumping distance so without hesitation I jump it and start down the ladder quietly, I get to the bottom and begin crawling along the side of the roof, avoiding the zombies I get back to the stairs and head down before starting my way towards the mountain, I reach a railroad track and from here could see the path along the mountain easily, it was covered in zombies so I decided it'd have to wait, I followed the tracks a bit and came across a saloon with doors wide open, I step inside and see equipment scattered across the floor, I start looking through it. Flares, Makarov magazines, Soda, bandages, and a warming pad of sorts. I put it all
in my backpack and move to the other side of the room, crouch down to check another pile, that was when it happend. A zombie had stumbled in through the backdoor and I somehow didn't notice it. the next thing I remember was an incredible pain shooting up my right leg, I look behind and see what was happening, the zombie had bit clean into my calf. In a rage I kick it off with my left foot and smash my hachet into its skull, it fell over redead and I sat there for only a moment looking at the wound. The infection wouldn't take long to spread, something had to be done.. I had to do it. Still fueled by rage I hacked my leg off at the knee, things became blurry and I don't exactly remember how it happend, I recall lighting on of the flares and a unbelievable burning pain sent through my entire body as I cauterize the wound best I can, I also wrapped it in the bandages I had gathered through my travels. I couldn't stand anymore, clearly, so I crawled. I opened each of the doors and threw a flare out, I also dropped one flare in the center of the room, to send some sort of signal I guess. before leaving I went back to that pile and found a makarov pistol, I decide to take that with me. Then I crawl, for what felt like hours I crawled my way back to the water tanks, there was no way I'd make it to the mountain in my condition. On the way I must've shot at least six of the bastards, I made it to the stairs that led to the roof and step by slow step I made it up. The zombies that had been up there earlier were gone, they probably stumbled off the roof and broke their legs somewhere. I crawled my way to the ladder and somehow forced myself up here.
I made it up lit another flare, I tossed it over the edge and rolled over, shooting the zombies that had gathered below me one by one, magazine after magazine, I don't know how long I spent doing that, long enough. I ran out of ammunition and rolled back to the center of the tank, I was going to die here. I lit up my last flare and set it a few feet from myself, I grabbed my diary and began writing this, god knows how long it took, the flare died quite a while ago and I had to resort to flashlight, which is almost dead itself.
A word of advice to anyone who might read this. You can't stop it, they will kill you, and no body can do anything about that.

I'm really not the greatest writer, but should you get a decent idea of what happened.
Note that some scenes may have been exaggerated and I left out a lot about zombies walking through walls and climbing ladders and such.

Luckily i had no nukes on me.
Also, how the heck did your survive that? xD

For some odd reason when I join a DayZ it keeps showing that I have a bad version, any positive way to fix this problem?

I have it properly installed, I followed this tutorial.

This mod sounds really fun, when does everyone usually play?

I really want to play, but it keeps getting stuck at "waiting for character to create."
As far as I understood, this is because of the DDoS?
It really irritates me, I bought it recently and haven't been able to play almost at all.
