I don't want to take inspirational pictures I want to capture beautiful scenes and that was beautiful last night, it was incredible you could hear to ice cracking and the snow melting it was so quiet.
Well you did a bad job of capturing it because I got none of those vibes from the picture.

Another one I took last night:

your car looks so cool.

those are your friend. Get 3 of them and read up on 3 point lighting. In that situation you would benefited from having another light behind the subjects on the sheet to eliminate the shadows from the keylight. Also, iron yo backdrop, nig. The only way you can get a cloth background to work is if you iron it (clothes iron) and then find some way to stretch it taut. I've never had much luck with it, so you're better suited to find a very wide open dark area, I'd say, if you want to do studio-type work for cheap.

See I had two lights like that from our shop, but they seemed a bit harsh, and I didn't aim them at the family, just bounced them. Yeah the backdrop was lazy and bad.

They are very harsh in close proximity, they must be bounced if they're close. I've gotten away with setting them fairly far away, but yeah, bouncing will do fine in close proximity.

alright

I find the angle gross, but other than that yeah, it looks neat.

Nice SG

Something a bit more vivid/different.

took this like 10 minutes ago

I know it's technically not photography but the thickness of the fog is cool

omg horrible photo bad composition and no rule of thirds omg y u do this get out

But seriously, that's sick! I love fog, it's so pretty. I'm quite jealous, haven't seen fog here for a while.

Some stuff I took last year:

Probably my favorite picture. I was testing out my mom's new D5100 and the flash scared this guy off his web. :c

Testing out my mom's new camera again. Picture of my grandparent's dog.

This one wasn't taken by me but by my mom (my pictures didn't turn out that well with too many people and skewed horizons). Japanese tradition for good luck is to see the first sunset of the year, which is what this picture is.

Super mediocre attempt at a firework picture on my S8200. I didn't use the firework profile (did not realize it had one at the time) or have a stand (held it throughout the firework) so most of my pictures turned out really bad. This was one of the betters ones though.

Feel free to rate or whatever.

EDIT: Forgot to add a picture.
