i'm getting this graphics card from a friend, it think the name is: ATI radeon hd 5650? it's something close to that number, would that be good enough to run arma II i know everything else in my computer can do it but idk about the card

It will run it, but not well at all.

My computer can't run ARMA II :(

SOMEONE SEND ME $10 PAYPAL SO I CAN BUY ARMA 2: CO :(

My favorite add-on for this would have to be DayZ.

Just kidding.

But really, it would have to be Advancing Power. It's a pretty much hold-the-line-while-pushing-it-back kind of thing. You define two bases on any map you want with an initial "fire zone" which is where both sides will run to at the start of the battle. You can have up to 12 different "main" groups of different factions with a bunch of "background" groups of either infantry, light vehicles or armor. You can call in all kinds of support like artillery strikes and radar, and when you kill something you get money + points that can be used to buy new soldiers, vehicles or weapons. It's plenty of fun. The AI likes to be a richard, though. I set the battlezone to Chernogorsk with the bases outside of it and the main fire zone inside, when OPFOR decides to call in a Spetsnaz paradrop right outside the city in the field where BLUFOR spawns. 6 personal deaths, several BLUFOR artillery strikes and a lot of dead Spetsnaz later we finally cleaned up the paradrop and went along with the battle. I love that add-on.

So how does one get into this game? Are there any role playing groups/clans/whatever that would take on new people. I love the idea of dropping into an LZ in a helicopter and following orders, watching people go down beside me while i give cover fire. This sorta thing happens in this game right? I had the free version but i just played some Co-Op vs AI thing and it wasn't the most fun thing but I've seen videos of big group using voice comms and team-work.

The most fun way to play is on a friend's server. Public servers are usually full of Southern rednecks stuffting over the fact they can use powerful weapons, so it's tough finding a good public one.

Last time I played it was mostly greedy clan people who hoarded the aircraft and forward bases.

its Star, Twentefreak, Gear, and myself's home server

I might come by in the act of trying to escape squeeky chipmunk voiced people or to drive tanks and blew stuff up.
