You guys should seriously read the article before being stupid. It retains criminal possession of child research, but if you simply view it, which in loose terms is your browser saving it to your image cache, you cannot be charged for viewing it.

So if any website had one of those automatic videos when you get on the site, and it was child research, New York is now saying it will no longer charge people (who by the way are probably already being charged for some sort of love offender charges), because it has no proof you were viewing the video.

Just one of those things on the internet that can make sense, but wouldn't in reality.

This was already ruled several months ago in Oregon too.

Basically, in states other than New York and Oregon, if some starfish sends you a CP link and you click it, it's in your browser's cache (that's just how the internet works). With it in your browser's cache, it's on your computer, and therefore you can go to jail because some starfish sent you a link.

With the ruling, CP is still illegal, but you won't go to jail just from accidentally seeing it because you clicked on the wrong link.
