Author Topic: [REQUEST] Please stop suggesting Blockland on new engines/consoles  (Read 4676 times)

STOP IT!
We have made this clear. CLEARER THAN LIFE ITSELF.
Blockland was made on TGE 1.3.2 because Badspot decided it was a good idea, not because it was the new cool thing. Blockland wasn't made for complex rendering and super mega stuff. It's a brick building game, get that through your thick skulls.

If Badspot wanted to upgade Blockland to a new engine he would have done so a long time ago. But he doesn't because he knows that if he wants something from an engine he can just recreate it.
Torque3D is not for Blockland. Why you might ask? Because there is no use for it. If Badspot wanted to use the rendering code to make rendering better, he would have done it. If he wanted new physics, cloth physics, or any of that junk, he can just buy the engine rip the code out and add it in.
But remember: this is blockland the game where you build stuff with cubes with textures. Not Blockland the game where you see super mega realistic physics and have super awesome cloth for no apparently reason. Other engines would require such intense remakes of already existing code, there would be no point.

Also, Blockland is not going on any other consoles. First of all it stands that it would need to go to a new engine. Second of all there is simply not enough buttons to satisfy Blockland's needs. Third of all the entire Add-On system would go to hell because Sony/Microsoft have such tight pussies. It wouldn't even be fun on a different console. If you want Blockland so badly on such a big screen, learn how to plug a cable into your TV from your computer, it's really not that hard.

TL;DR: I may have gotten the version wrong in the first paragraph or something, made a few types or something. Though lets cut it down to a few points
1) Blockland is not going to change enginges
2) Blockland is not going to any other consoles
3) Blockland is not going to T3D, keep dreaming friends.

Please stop making these handicapped topics, they don't help anyone. We know you want it to be on T3D/Source/PS3/CryEngine/Xbox/Wii/PSP/PSVita, but it isn't going to happen. So sorry but it simply isn't going to happen. Understand that.

Actually quite the opposite, this is something that I get quite serious about.  Usually I am not so serious.  I have no idea how you could possibly think I am being silly in that post, but whatever.
