Marching around like silly people isnt a sport.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uzIlaXGhsqU you try doing this, perfectly. you can't mess up or the entire band fails. if your not in marching band, you wont get it. and if you insult marching band, just gtfo already, your opinion is wanted here.

Marching is stupid and shouldnt be considered a sport.
Band is also stupid because the music is gay.

Oh forget no, mister
You just went too far right there
It's on
It's more on than an electrical socket

I compare marching band to cheerleading. Just cheerleaders get extra points for being attractive.

Cheerleading should be considered a sport because the stuff they have to do is actually pretty tough.

Music isnt a sport, so all that marching band has going for it is marching.

so...tossing people up in the air is a sport now? we march across an entire field, caring instruments, and playing them at the same time. sometimes the instuments way around 50 pounts, and you have to do it right every time,

Ok thats cool but how does that strengthen you point?
those are all videos of a sport. marching. someone, tell me the exact requirements for a sport.

Try lifting, supporting, and throwing a greater than one-hundred pound person into the air and tell me how that goes
Okay, now try it for about ten minutes
Not easy, is it

How about Color Guard members? They have to march, spin a flag, and eventually throw it. All at the same time.

Marching prob isn't a sport, but its not a cakewalk like some of you are acting like lol. Especially in college, my cousin had to get out of class @ 3 and then be at marching til about 11. Its not HARD tho

i can march around a field with a 50 point weight on my back while playing the tetris theme on a kazoo. is that now considered a sport? as long as i remember, marching band is basically walking with instruments and involves musical skill. walking and carrying things is as much as physical skill as having arms and legs is.

this is a sport, this involves more coordination than a marching band, more physical skill than a marching band, and a stuff load more actual training than a marching band. if you bump into an other person in marching band you might get a bruise, dent an instrument, or at worse knock over a bunch of people. if you bump into a person while doing a backflip you can break bones, break their bones, kill them, or die yourself.

thats not all cheerleaders do. They have to do flips, lift people in the air, throw people in the air, every move has to be exact, they have to be flexible, and most importantly, do splits.

marching band is a performance, not a sport
