How can It get HARDER?
Stalker difficulty and I have to stand infront of someone to actually loving hit them.
Also Spetsnaz keeps bum loving the starting area after I wiped out the military checkpoint at the downed bridge.

You start off as essentially a hobo, so you are going to have hobo weapons. You have to crouch down and engage targets at a distance, hide behind a tree. When you are far away aim for the center of mass, don't waste time with head shots. If you stun them, you can then take the time to line up your shot to hit them in the head, or continue hitting them in their chest. Press 0 until your automatic guns are set to 1 or 2 burst shots, this way you do not waste ammo and you shoot more precisely.

And one of your problems is you are playing Stalker difficulty. The way difficulty works in this game is it makes it harder for BOTH sides, not just you. Instead of making every enemy a bullet sponge it instead just makes the bullets more powerful in general, causing a head shot to essentially be an insta-kill for you and the AI.

When fighting mutants, use a shotgun or some kind of magnum, little bullet calibers won't do much against a starved blood sucker.

ALSO I doubt they are Spetsnaz. There are only a couple of them in the game and they are literally only sent in for huge problems. There is a military camp a little down the road opposite from the bridge, and there are patrols down there. Most likely they keep getting lured down there by some mutant and then get eyes on that sentry out front.

Well they we're all classed as Veterans and had much more spec op like uniforms so I just assumed.

Like exo-suits? Either way I don't really understand why they are there. Sometimes the military will send in back up for the bridge and re-guard it, but they are always normal military grunts.

Just quick-save a lot and try different tactics.

Holy damn, I have over 100 hours in all three games combined, these are absolutely incredible works. Unfortunately, I think I've played through each game far too much for them to be enjoyable, at least for a while.

I'm over 30 hours in SoC alone and I haven't even gone to X18 ;)

I remember something that happened to me the first time I installed AMK and played SoC, which was like two days ago.

I had just went and gotten the 'perfected suit' for Nimble and I was headed back through the car park. As I was coming down the road, I saw a boar veer out of the wilderness and it ran into the car park. I stopped and crouched and used my binoculars to watch the innards of the park but didn't see the boar so I figured it must have grabbed a bandit body and dragged it off, so I continue on.

When I get half way through the car park I hear hnggff hnggff hnggf getting louder and louder, so I turn around and SLAM I get loving pierced by the boars horn and I start bleeding heavily. I pull out my shotgun and hit him once and dodge his second as he turns around and begins charging me I fire the last shot in my shotgun and the boars useless dead body slides past me.

So here I am with two bandages and no med kits, and I really desperately want to get back to camp and sleep the pain off. So I start hobbling over towards the camp when suddenly a loving bandit descends from the very heavens themselves and starts screaming incomprehensible ruskie gibberish "CHEEEKII BROOKII" and starts firing wildly towards me.

I turn around and catch a loving bullet right in the face.

I was lost to the zone.

If you guys want to mod in a prone stance into the game instead of low crouch just go to your  STALKERVIDYA/gamedata/config/creatures/actor.LTX file and open it as a notepad file. Then, edit in

ph_box0_center                   = 0.0,  0.9,  0.0
ph_box0_size                   = 0.35, 0.9,  0.35
ph_box1_center                   = 0.0,  0.65,  0.0
ph_box1_size                   = 0.35, 0.65,  0.35
ph_box2_center                   = 0.0,  0.2,  0.0
ph_box2_size                   = 0.35, 0.2,  0.35

You really just need to edit a couple of points, because this is already in, just change the values that don't correspond to these values. And then congrats! You now have a prone!

I'm trying to install AMK on SoC 1.4 but it won't work.  I followed the guide that came with it exactly.

AMK modifies the game mechanics, STALKER Complete 2009 is purely cosmetical.
