Author Topic: Cat Found Buried Alive in Concrete Up to its Head. (oh my god i'm crying)  (Read 21575 times)

Okay, we don't know if cats have real emotions aside from instincts ( I don't know at least ) uh, do you have sources to suggest that cats don't have emotions. It's beating a bit around the bush, but still.
Eninja: Sev can I have links to some of those documents? I believe you but I'm a bit bored and need a good read. Also, elephants are better than cats.

The subject of animal "respect" is entirely based upon each individual human.

I have a high amount of respect for animals. Somebody like Seventh has very little.
Whatever, aludane mccarthy.

Cats don't have all of the emotions humans have,
but they do have emotions.

cats can be afraid for example
like if they were abused by a human then they might be AFRAID of humans

why do people argue about stupid things

Whatever, aludane mccarthy.
it's funny because what he said is true.

why do people argue about stupid things

thick-headed people

Whatever, aludane mccarthy.
Explain further or have I provided an argument you cannot respond to properly?

the fact that we call human's natural behavior "human behavior."
that means we could call a cat's natural behavior "cat behavior" with its individual emotional responses, etc. not EVERYTHING has to be based off of humans. you're saying this stuff as if it came off of humans by saying "hurr you're mistaking it for human behavior just because it has emotions"
what no
he's saying they dont have emotions.

you are all stupid. there was no animal abuse going on in this story.

church/religion had nothing to do with it.
nor is there even evidence of any person causing this to the cat

a kitten was found in a cement post hole. how is it unlikely it fell in?

what no
he's saying they dont have emotions.
he should feel bad then

um
we stopped talking about church/religion a long time ago
we know there's no evidence of a person doing it. but seventh seems to have started an argument about whether or not torturing animals matters much

That wasn't an argument, that was a statement. Learn your debate rhetoric, smalltime.

Holy forget I've refuted that all those emotions are just instincts people in the thread are mistaking for human emotion. Read the thread before you jump in like an idiot.

you're constantly saying they aren't capable of emotion.
No he's not.
He's just pointing out that sentience isn't the same thing as emotion.
Emotion is pretty widespread amongst living things, since it has nothing to do with consciousness, while sentience is basically the capability for a higher level of thinking.

I'M NOT SAYING THEY'RE loving HUMAN EMOTIO-
that's it
i'm sick of this

um
what does sentience have anything to do with anything i was talking about.

Why does the word "emotion" exist if everything we feel is an "instinct"

Danke, herr sandwich.

Why does the word "emotion" exist if everything we feel is an "instinct"
Cat dying > [Instinct] > Dead = bad
Family member dying > [Emotion] > Deprivation of fun experiences with that person = sad

You're handicapped beyond belief.

There's no such thing as human emotion vs cat emotion. There's sentient decisions and instincts.

Why does the word "emotion" exist if everything we feel is an "instinct"
Humans don't have instincts, everything we do is based off of learned knowledge. Things like touching a stove and pulling your hand back is called motor control and is controlled by your cerrebelum. An award winning psychiatrist told me this in person.
