Review
I've been pretty disappointed at the "official" Blockoworld ending and Munk taking over the ropes hosting what is essentially "take two" of the server. I decided to boycott my material from the server and instead visit it to see if I'll contribute next year.
I was expecting a convention but what I got was a city build template littered with booths. The range of content there was exceptional, far superior to the original Blockoworld. Though in saying that, the area was just too big. One section had a number of builds tightly placed together. The other end had staggered builds and gaps. It felt messy. Its better to have less builds but for the convention to be complete then to have players trolling up and down empty lots to see what content is on offer.
Pros:
- Lots of content
- Nice range of booths
- Low latency server
Cons:
- stuffty base template
- Lack of "convention feel"
In the end I think that the users did a great job making booths, and the host did a good job setting up custom mods for people.
But this isn't a convention. Its a freebuild cityRPG with a bunch of ads stuck in between.
It is as I expected. Munk has not delivered a Blockoworld. He has just opened a server and loosely strapped together the remains of the previous event. How 2013 will work out, I don't know.
