Oh yeah and uh some Dragon Guard find an experimental mech inside the bunker where the Steel Legion USED TO BE.
Mine.

nope its inside our building.
wait
who said something?
i didn't say anything.

You said the Steel Legion had it I assumed it was in the bunker
AND WHO SAID IT WAS YOUR MECH.

I DID.
oops.

Anyways it's a Steel Legion Runner Mech, was obviously going to be used, but never really got past the production stage.
Not many advantages over the LRW-990 aside from being smaller and being faster, as well as cheaper to manufacture. Renaming that stuff to SLR-001.

Meanwhile secret research of secret cool things that are secret begins.

okay, it's not mine. good.

Our laser weapons are not meant to be something where you just hold the trigger.  Our lasers are meant to be fired in rapid succession.
So operating like a normal pistol, jut less efficient and damaging than a standard firearm pistol.

Damage with lasers increases rapidly over time, so you'd be able to cause a deep wound by firing a laser for 1 second as opposed to a small pulse laser firing for 1/5th of a second.

Plus, wouldn't you need some gnarly magnets and mirrors in that pistol to even use it.  I wouldn't think something like that would even be that compact.

EAF is replacing all planes' engines with GMGP Reactors.

Fairly sure these pistols are the kind that have incredibly high power outputs, to the point in which it could melt metal with a short burst, and advanced cooling systems.

Speaking of which laser weaponry is also now in development.

Since when did you develop the Emerrian laser rifle, SWAT?

Lol everyone hop aboard the HTAU Bandwagon!

EFV-3400 Dåriñus takes off, with the Emmerian president aboard.  It is currently leaving Izjiti (A major port town on Erinaum's West Coast) and is heading towards Citta Santa.  The large floating island is now flying at an altitude of 10,310 feet @ 20 knotts @ 7.35° north of west.  All flights in its path are diverted.  Erinaum's President, Ëdura Shemír, is glad to have the Emmerian president accompany him on the trip around the world.

Since when did you develop the Emerrian laser rifle, SWAT?
I had Torch Rifles since 2020.  "Torch Rifle" is just the Erinamese name for Laser Rifle.

Did you develop and design Emerria's laser rifle?  Do you know how it works?  No?  Then shut the hell up.  You don't decide how everything works.

Do you know how lasers work?  No?  Develop some credibility.  You don't decide how everything works either.

I didn't decide how Emerria's rifle works, Gojira did.

Well if I said I made a pistol that fires 800,000,000,000 rockets per second, then I could claim the same thing by your logic.

Lasers damage things exponentially over time.  Short bursts of energy will only singe the surface of something, and putting a bullet through someone would be much easier and cost much less.

Putting it into a pistol would be impossible, because even if we could assume that,
these pistols are the kind that have incredibly high power outputs, to the point in which it could melt metal with a short burst, and advanced cooling systems.
then they would not be NEARLY as compact as you portrayed them, and probably not even possible.  And even if it was that size, it would be incredibly fragile and possibly fall apart.

The part that caught my eye was

incredibly high power outputs, to the point in which it could melt metal with a short burst

Wait.  That means that the pistol would heat itself up to extremely high temperatures.  You would only be able to use it a few times before burning your hand off.

Hey SWAT shut up. By this time it's likely that high power lasers were developed, which would be able to hit much harder.
