Sadly, someone asked if the steampipe beta users would have to download much when the actual thing goes live and this was the reply:

There might be a small patch, but it won't be a full download or even the lengthy conversion process. By opting in, you are doing that conversion process early. At the time we convert everybody, the "beta" you are running will just become the official version of the game.

So it looks like there won't be anything big content wise in the new update.

Of course Valve could be:
A. Lying
B. Just talking about the steampipe section of the update (if there IS more)

So, I downloaded the steampipe beta, and here's my opinion on it

-Launch and load times are definitely faster

-Custom files and stuff are really easy to convert over (you literally move the same pathing over to a different folder, and can make it a vpk using the vpk tool in the bin folder, also the readme says that making it a vpk makes it work faster so its probably for the best)

My particles and some sounds are gone from alot of my weapons that were in the Gordbort update.

Anyone know why this is happening? Even after verifying my game cache it still does this.
