I think the people (and Jay Pinkerton) who work on the comic are a mostly different team from the guys that work on the game, but the TF2 team are working on the next big update plus a 4 to 5 minute SFM video, and as for the comic team, there's a lot of things they need to do before they've actually released the comic, provided they have a story to work with in the first place, which they probably need the TF2 team for

aw man if only replays were a thing on official servers and could record a whole match instead of just a life
man i loved to use the feature so much back in the day and sometimes on a 24/7 server i'd try to stay alive the whole game so i could have a really long replay of the whole game and see what the other people did

story time:
i once had an at least hour long replay of a game on a cp_orange varient and there was this really cool dude with a piano who'd play some songs over the mic to keep us company and even did a lil song with my name in it
and he even commented on my youtube profile thing

he did make a vid on that match although i wasn't in it but it only has about a hundred views so it's not like it mattered too much but it's still kinda cool
