In other news, I have a story to tell. A story about matchmaking.
Once upon a time, sometime last year, I was playing casual in Dustbowl. I got matched mid-game. We were at the last round of Dustbowl, attacking team, but lost. Then we moved on to defense. Sometime around there, people began leaving, up to the point where there were only three people on each team, myself included.
Since with few people dying is a big penalty for the defenders, The enemies ended up capping the first part of the map. So we got to the second part. This time I defended long enough for the round to end and everyone to quit.
I didn't quit, however. And this time, it was time to attack. I was all alone. I had many points to cash out, but to cash them out... I had to win the game.
Alone.
So I rushed as fast as I could through the map, so that the server may set me free AND give me my well-deserved experience, when about 10 seconds after I capture the first point of the last part...
Tons of players arrive.They were waiting for so long, probably, the matchmaking system sent them to the corner - the corner being, my game.
My game. Then both teams got filled with players, yet this game had to end quickly. I told everyone my story while we were playing. I have no idea if they believed me or not, but I said the truth anyway. Thankfully, one of the spies that repeatedly sneaked directly to the capture point managed to finish the game.
And thus, my long, long journey ended, and the server's session too. Those guys then played another round most likely, but I had to go. Not only did I have to go in 20 minutes, I also had to take a breather after that once-in-a-lifetime experience.
