Version are usually big changes or big fixes, or a big new feature added.

Revisions are usually bug fixes and minor changes, new things that aren't that much big.

So does this just mean the Mac user base doesn't get to experience shadows? Or is it being worked on?

i can use shadows and i'm on mac, they look horrendous but they are definitely there.
