Uh, no?
The sensors don't matter much unless you're getting boarded, and considering it's the final battle they'd have enough oxygen to survive the fight and that's all they need.
Wrong.

You need to keep at LEAST level one sensors on at all times, ESPECIALLY if you're up against the flagship. Without sensors, you won't see if there's a fire in systemless rooms, and if unchecked, it's going to spread to the entire ship, and by then it'll be too late to vacuum it out.

But he's on the last boss? If it's dead fire doesn't matter. If he'd repaired the oxygen or sensors he would have lost.
I know they matter, but not as much as weapons.

Of course, weapons are essential, but in 90% of cases, you're going to need sensors in a fight. Especially if they have missiles, and the flagship has four. Even if it's not a very big fire, left unchecked, it will spread, and forget you over.

I've had my sensors go down, I was repairing weapons, and then as my crew pass through the ship, they walk through stuffloads of fire destroying my ship. That's why I find my sensors essential - I need to know if I'm dying. Even in the final boss, I want to make sure I can make it at least to a jump.

But you don't need to jump after you beat it...

You might have to. I had to jump away once else it would have killed me.

I am equally baffled.

Oxcorp was playing yesterday - apparently the flagship jumped as it was blowing up, which told the game it escaped, and he died chasing it to destroy it again.

You can purchase upgraded versions of weapons at some stores

Was fighting in an asteroid field. A missile was coming for me and an asteroid hit it.

yayyy

One of the Engi crewmen, of my Engi ship's name defaulted to Notch.

Defeated the second stage of the boss, but the fire they started spread everywhere and killed me.

Editing the data.dat even with Notepad++ crashes the game. Are the devs really that much against modding?
