Author Topic: Project Eternity - $3,986,929!!  (Read 2177 times)

Project Eternity aims to recapture the magic, imagination, depth, and nostalgia of classic RPGs that we enjoyed making - and playing. At Obsidian, we have the people responsible for many of those classic games and we want to bring those games back… and that’s why we’re here - we need your help to make it a reality!

If there's anything else I should add tell me.

I like the idea of a major company like Obsidian funding their projects through Kickstarter, to get consumer ideas and to free themselves of publishing companies, but I never can get into top-down isometric RPG's. :/

jesus christ that's a lot of money

Woah 3 races and 5 classes!!!!
....
meh. might follow.

This is a great kickstarter (as far as kickstarters go). I like Obsidian, and I like isometric RPGs. I pledged 30$.

Wait,

1 million to make this?

...

i expect this to be quite the good game if the pledged goal was 1 million.

My expectations are low but it better be fun and worth the loving million pledged

I always wondered why the forget these people need so much money to make an indie game.

Dear god...

2 people pledged $10,000.

I bet they're excited for that in-game item! (which is probably the same as the low-tier one)

I always wondered why the forget these people need so much money to make an indie game.
We're looking at the same people who worked on Fallout: NV, Alpha Protocol, and so on.
They're also going to use that money to buy necessary programs, hire more people to help, etc.

Of course, I shouldn't have to explain this when they already did in their own words.

We need to raise $1.1 million to fund an experienced team to do this right. We are asking for more than a lot of the other Kickstarter projects and that’s because we are not only making a game, we are creating a whole new world. That means a new RPG system, entirely new art, new characters and animation and whole lot of lore and dialogue. We’ve also designed the game to have a flexible budget and scope, so if we reach our target budget goal, we have a list great stuff we can add into the mix through stretch goals. And, additional money we raise will go straight into the game to add new levels, companions, NPCs, features, and even entirely new parts of the world which will add hours and hours to the adventure.

Only 300,000 away from the final stretch goal and we still have 23 days left.

Hopefully they add more stretch goals.

This is going to hopefully be a really amazing game. I especially like the part where you don't get exp for killing dudes. This way, you aren't expected to grind for awhile to move on.

It's made in Unity...

New info about classes and new stretch goals!
