Author Topic: Is anyone here against the legalization of marijuana?  (Read 6553 times)

almost as harmful as backwash!
Backwash happens to have quite the potential to be deadly depending on the back washers possible sicknesses.

Why does it matter what we use the money for? The nation could use it. Taxing marijuana alone could do quite a bit. It's illegal because hemp threatened the paper industry decades ago, so they ran a fear campaign against it, and to this day it remains illegal. It's not a waste of money, nor does it harm you (unless you smoke it)
oh wait i thought you were against it.better to have a price increase on it then have it unavailable to them at all.

when did I ever say I was against it?

"putting money back into US farmer's pockets instead of drug dealers on the street in foreign cartels"
Are you actually implying any respectable cartel or gang deals with peddling weed? People get this stuff from small grows in closets and backyards, not loving organized shipments from some backwater stuffhole of the world passing through cartel hands. You're thinking cocaine or heroine or some stuff.

You didn't. It was worded strangely though, and I thought you were.

I understand they may be a bit biased.

Once a friend unknowingly had some of my drink that I backwashed.

I had glandular fever at the time :(

i'm against marijuana because it can become harmful to people that abuse it like alcohol.

but they should lower the charges.

but if it wasn't illegal, there would easier ways to get it and a lot less moderation.

it would become harmful and people would become impaired and have long term problems from being addicted.

I'm completely against it and honestly cannot respect the opinion of the op for the reasons he provided.

which boosts the economy and tourism leading to more jobs and lowering the unemployment rate, all while putting money back into US farmer's pockets instead of drug dealers on the street in foreign cartels, also decongesting the prison system and freeing up police resources which helps to lower taxes.

Legalizing marijuana will not help or economy in the slightest.  It is a resource dominated by third world labor and there is no way US farmers will compete.  It will just be sending money off shore to places like east Asia and south America.

Jail congestion won't be affected; people already don't go to jail for doing illegal drugs.  They just need to pay fines or go to rehabilitation classes.  The people that go to jail for anything drug related are the people mostly In gangs selling it.

Then there is the minor point that it is a loving Neurotoxin, smoking it literally makes you stupid.  Maybe it's not as bad on your body as smoking tobacco, but at least people can still function at regular capacity under the influence.

I'm sure a ton of people here will disagree, but I seriously can't imagine an ambitious, hard-working, motivated, and successful pothead, besides a rare artist of some sort.

Hemp was legal in colonial times. George Washington had hemp plants, as well as Thomas Jefferson.
yet it wasn't as grossing/smoked/sold/ as tobacco

I think in Texas the minium years you can spend in jail is ten years if you are caught with enough to fill a small salt shaker.

i'm against marijuana because it can become harmful to people that abuse it like alcohol. if they need marijuana that badly, the law wouldn't stop them from getting it. :/

but they should lower the charges.

but if it wasn't illegal, there would easier ways to get it and a lot less moderation. trust me, it's easy enough to get now. moderation won't get lower.

it would become harmful and people would become impaired and have long term problems from being addicted.
I feel like I've said this a million times.
Marijuana is not addictive. It's as addictive as a sandwich. It's as addictive as sour patch kids. The only addiction that you may form would be from lack of self control.

We should fly bombers over Mexico and drop napalm onto suspected cartel centers.

Bathsalts make you eat people.

All that other stuff (from what I've seen, so excuse me) hasn't been that bad.

Sorry if I offended you, that was not intended.
Really? Methamphetamine, heroin, prescription painller abuse? What rock have you been under. Start doing some research dude

I'm against it.
Drugs can kill you and misused.
You can go to jail for a long, loong time.
When you buy them, they cost toons of money; doing so can make you poor.
Seriously.
What's worse? Not even starting and getting addicted, or doing them and facing all of these conflicts?
Against Marijuana legalization because you could go to jail for it?
Logic?

People who want to use Marijuana already do. If you live in California and you want to use marijuana, you can. You can legally buy it with a card, and the cards are very, very easy to obtain. "Ouch, I broke my ankle. I NEED MY WEED"
