Homeschooling doesn't mean you're being sheltered. If you seriously think that just because they are taught by their parents mean they don't actually know anything about the real world, you're just useless to even discuss this with.
It doesn't absolutely mean the kid is sheltered but in most cases it's just what happens.  We just had a transfer in our school come in as a Junior after being home schooled (As a high school student), and he seems to be not the most social kind of person.

The problem with homeschooling is that if the child doesn't do enough socializing on their own then they don't really develop the social skills that a real school provides (mind you, "skills" such as starting conversation, confidence, etc. not habits i.e. drinking/etc.).

You can not be social in a public school too. I am fine socially and I have been homeschooled all my life.

The first sentence is true.  Congrats on the social skill development!

I am actually starting homeschooling tomorrow

The only things I don't like about public school is the fact I wake up at 6am to catch a bus that I ride for an hour and a half just to be transferred for another 10 minutes.

Then its a 10 minute ride to get on a bus for the hour and a half ride.

Homeschooled

Although somewhere in between Sheltered and CoolBro

Not involved in sports, and choose for the sake of my well being, to not play gory or overly violent games. I love a good clean book, and trust me, I get unexpected days off.
