@ Lalam.
Yes the LDS church teaches that God is infinite, and yes it means that god probaly once had his own God, but what proof do you have that the Universe isn't infinite? Our understanding is so limited, that we can't even comprehend what God comprehends. Can an entity in a 2D plane Comprehend the 3D demension? I say that it Cannot.
You obviously are interpreting the Scriptures the wrong way. In order to understand the verses, its helpfull to look at them in context.
Job chapter 38:4-5
" 4 Where wast thou when I laid the foundations of the earth? declare, if thou hast understanding.
5 Who hath laid the measures thereof, if thou knowest? or who hath stretched the line upon it?
"
Job 38:4 Refers to when Christ created the earth. It does not mean that the earth is static. A ships foundation is built and laid by workers and yet it moves.
'6 Whereupon are the foundations thereof fastened? or who laid the corner stone thereof;"
A building has a corner stone upon which the foundation rests upon. It is a metaphor for the earth.
I'm really not sure how interpret any of this to mean that the bible says the sun revolves around the earth.
You take the bible litteraly. In Psalams 93:1 when it says
" 1 The Lord reigneth, he is clothed with majesty; the Lord is clothed with strength, wherewith he hath girded himself: the world also is stablished, that it cannot be moved. "
It does not mean that earth litteraly can not be moved. It is like me saying to you, go take a hike when I do not litteraly mean for you to take hike.
Religion can not prove science and science can not prove Religion. They are two forces that do not mix. I liken it to math- which we both obviously like. Math can not tell me why I enjoying things over others. It can not say why I feel pain, come up with abstract thoughts, or my creativity. Math can not define happyness, and yet we we feel it. It can not define suffering, which we all have experienced.
