No, I am giving up on people who keep saying things that aren't even true. Like this:Please, enough is enough.
We have already settled this. There was a misunderstanding and now it has been resolved. Look at the previous posts.
I looked through and the only thing that was resolved was the context of your argument: Title Change
1. I know what rap is.
2. It doesn't, I am not saying there isn't a single rap song I like. I like very few though.
3. Stating my opinion doesn't make me ignorant. My opinion (I haven't counted) is that most rap songs are about the same thing (drugs are just an example).
If you know what rap is you would know that drugs are not the most talked about subject.
If your opinion is ignorant than it makes you ignorant since your opinions come from you, or at least I hope they do.
You must like rap.
It's just opinion anyways. I just think people would get tired of hearing almost every song be about drugs. I know I would.
Another sweeping generalization. ^^^This is where you sweep rap under one category, just in case you don't remember.
What makes me dumb? I do admit that I am a bit ignorant about rap music because I don't listen to it. I mainly hear the rap songs my friends play and they are all about the same things. In earlier posts, I am not saying that all rap songs are like this and I think that is what is getting people confused. They think I am throwing all rap songs under one category when I am not.
I feel like I am the only one here who actually listens to this music. Does anyone else listen to bands like The Who, or Yes, or Pink Floyd?
I don't think you understand how many people, even here, listen to these guys and others from their respective eras. Even the bands you don't prefer love those legends and take much of their unique aspects based off of them.
Are there any bands that actually have a guitarist, a bassist, a lead singer, and a drummer that doesn't sound like crap and isn't hard rock or metal?
You have restricted yourself to seeing music as a scene. What if a song was made to perfectly impersonate these instruments and be good? If you didn't know the context of the song you would consider the song like any of the other songs you consider legitimate.
This is basically how I feel. There's just a certain way those types of genres sound that makes me not like them.
And again that is fine, just don't make generalizations. If you do make these generalizations be ready to be proven wrong over and over. Few generalizations can be true and they are nearly impossible to prove.
