Author Topic: do u even lift???  (Read 8261 times)

I've been lifting lately. I'm at the point where any amount of workout shoots my HGH through the roof so I'm hoping that I grow a few inches while getting fit.

I work out four days a week doing a similar routine every day (until i get more equipment), which pretty much involves:

pull-ups
push-ups
curls
hammers
Dumbell flies
dead-lifts + bench (which I alternate in doing)
lat pull-down
leg lifts
crunches

I do about 3 sets of most of these and I drink protein shakes once or twice a day. protein shake I got was recommended by Ephi (thanks bro <3)

any pointers on this, much appreciated. (although i'd only trust advice from lub, ephi or boltster lol)

I have moderate acne that isn't easily treated. I wash my face 3 - 5 times a day, use different topicals, avoid greasy food when possible, and I have digested anti-bacterial medication.
Trust me, if I could fix the acne easily I would have.

However there is this one place I drive by occasionally... Something something acne treatment clinic... I've been curious about it and what they could possibly do. Next time I drive by I'll get the name and do some research maybe.

Back OT: I occasionally use a stair step machine in my dad's "man cave" and jog (or step..?) for an hour or two, overall I just don't want a gut haha
I'm in a pretty similar situation, what I do is wash my face 2-3 times a day with some tea tree wash, moisturizer and cleanser, and over the past couple of weeks I've noticed an improvement because of it.

i had all my spots when i was 13 but it passed in a year, so my skin is really clear now

But aren't you one of those meatheads who drinks way too much milk every day?

Bonkers.
nope

the blood test i got told me that it's not too much milk at all, it's enough for my goals

muscle + attractive face = attractive, whereas muscle + ehh face = try hard
more like muscle +ehh face = best you're going to get

why wouldn't you at least make your body look good if you can't make your face any better?

In response to Bolster, I guess, I didn't dismiss the entire practice of exercise. It has health benefits. I just mentioned the 'standards' that people have regardless of whether or not they technically have enough muscle (which is still debatable).
this is what i mean about your limited experience

it's really really really hard to get grotesque if you're a natural body builder. most guys will plateau long before they ever get grotesque, and then it becomes more about the strength than big muscles. is there a disadvantage to building strength? nope

I do push up's with my tentacles

Where's everyone's favourite body building man gorilla Solid he totally lifts.

Pull ups, crunches, and pushups.

I keep fit, but no more than that honestly. I've tried to hold myself to a schedule with situps, pushups, and all forms of pullups, but I always forget.
I have no need for excessive strength.

I think working out is a waste of time. :l

Then again I'm a skinny toothpick with hardly any muscle at all so I don't think my opinion counts.
So much this.

But, I do parkour, which does actually keep me in shape.

Just a message to those doing regular sets of push-ups - doing pushups alone will not give you the results that you may desire. might be wrong, but try to add variety.

So much this.

working out is not a waste of time. its only a waste of time for people who don't stick at it and give up quickly

Its a waste of time if you prefer to be small, and not have large amounts of muscle.
(like me)
