Author Topic: do u even lift???  (Read 8260 times)

I don't lift, mostly because at one time I did and I didn't gain any muscle in my arms at all after half a year. I have all my muscles in my legs, I'm seriously the fastest kid in my grade, I can jump about 2 feet when I want, and can kick about anyone I know onto the ground with 1 kick to the front of the shins. I still go for jogs 3 days a week, and do push-ups every night but I still don't gain any uper body strength >:O

I just climb, as in rock climbing, almost every day.
Keeps me muscular and in shape

Since i have only been "lifting" since school started i started pretty weak, but i am almost able to bench my own weight. Which for me is quite an improvement that i am proud of...

3-4 times a week. Working out every day is brutal.

I don't workout much anymore.
I was really into it last year.
I weigh a little over 150, and I bench 150.
So i'm in a pretty decent place still.
If I don't start up again soon though the weight will go up, and the bench will go down :(

What do you mean by 2 feet? because 2 feet up or across are equally unimpressive.

what're you talk- I just measured 2 feet, nvm. It was up, and I'm quite sure that it was higher than 2 feet, because 2 feet was impressive when I was 4'2, now I'm 5'4 and hopefully can jump higher than 2 feet from my running.

.... no I'm not sure 2 feet is impressive ever. Maybe if you are obese or aged 70 but otherwise.

why wouldn't you at least make your body look good if you can't make your face any better?
this is what i mean about your limited experience

it's really really really hard to get grotesque if you're a natural body builder. most guys will plateau long before they ever get grotesque, and then it becomes more about the strength than big muscles. is there a disadvantage to building strength? nope
I'm not talking about how people ACTUALLY look. I'm talking about STANDARDS that people have; everyone I know who lifts weights are actually quite self-conscious, constantly wondering if they're doing enough, etc.

Plus I looked through what I wrote and I never mentioned anything about exercise or building strength being 'bad.'

Oh god, I don't want to be reminded of this annoying guy from TF2 who kept on saying in his mic "do u evn lift!!!!1!"

my chest is building up pretty well which im happy about. im going to up my bench weight soon enough because i can certainly handle it
