You could change the LMG's accuracy and buff the rate of fire.
Instead of a slow chug-chug-chug it has potential to spray a volley of bullets, pinning the opposing player(s) down.

Machine guns seem to have a longer equip time than every other gun. Also, are the shotguns arcade-ish(Pellets go 5 inches/centimeters/a really short distance before the bullets dissapear) or somewhat realistic(Its not a sniper rifle, but its has a realistic range thats not "5 centimeters like COD")? Does a pistol or shotgun have more range before the bullet/pellets dissapear?

maybe LMGs should be a sort of mismash of automatic weapon type characteristics yet a rival to DMRs and even sniper rifles.
it could have good damage dropoff with less of a deviation between max and min damage, its usual ammunition advantage, and a larger accuracy movement penalty than other classes.
its accuracy formula could work in that it's accurate enough for mid to long range in firing 3 to 5 round bursts but then the accuracy gets moderately poor enough that it doesn't get completely out of control quickly but still non-ideal past whatever would be considered point blank range.
this can be compensated by a slower recoil recovery than other automatic weapons, forcing it to be used at a longer range as a support class although because the recoil doesn't get out of control a player can more or less still "rambo" up to medium range such as when storming a bunker or building, but running and gunning is ineffective.

Shotguns can poke targets at medium ranges but will entrepreneur -slap people to death at point blank, like one might expect from a pellet based weapon.

Pistols and shotguns will have the same maximum range but an obviously varied effective range.

Of course all of this data is just what I plan on doing, and may be subject to change during the balancing phase of the testing.

Also, still no sign of Khain; if you guys see my server up feel free to pop in to experiment with the weapons and the feels.

Nah man, it's more like it loving clothes lines you so hard your soul yoyos between earth and hell when you hit the ground.

make lmg's have high stopping power: if you get hit by an LMG bullet you are stunned for a sec, like what Bushido's T+T magnums do on body shots. like any real LMG you'd get pinned down quickly and if you get stuck in the line of fire you're basically dead, even though the individual bullet damage isn't instagib-style.

you might also want to up the accuracy for extended firing when standing still, and significantly nerf moving accuracy. bipods for a reason?

yay i fixed this piece of stuff finally and it hasnt broke in like 5 hours now YAY
