Yeah, but it's near impossible to actually get a chance to beat him without dying 170 times without a shivermist + blitz needle. I can tell because you and I have experienced this numerous times, so you should also know.

Either one you decide to upgrade is good because Cold Iron Vanquisher will deal tons of damage to enemies in a corner, which you can get there by blasting them with a nitronome. (Which has huge knockback)

for only 40 energy, you can get about 7.5-8.5 cr in a single vana run. (Assuming you don't do the boss)(This does not include the crowns that could also be gained selling the materials and equips you may find too)
