you could get those parts for cheaper from other places

I'd rather get them on Amazon because I have an account with prime (parents are paying for the prime) so I have free shipping with quite a few things, that and I could order everything in one instance

Are most 1151 intel motherboards ddr4 now? That's all I could find.
i thought pretty much every 1151 motherboard was ddr4 since only low end skylake processors support ddr3 iirc

pretty much, but it's well worth it, an i5 with a 1070 and 16GB of RAM and you're set.

Man, I want to get a 1070
But the evga ftw doesn't even have a price yet

hold off on it for now, I can't even use my 1070 because Nvidia's loving drivers are complete stuff

they only have one driver that supports the 1070, and that one driver currently is pretty much broken. I can't play a single game without the Display Driver crashing almost immediately. The card is great, and when it does run games for the short amount of time it's incredibly smooth, gives me 70 FPS in Witcher 3 on Ultra. But you can't play anything for more than like 10 minutes.

not to mention no one knows how to fix this, and the people at Nvidia aren't even responding to me on the forums, I swear they're just ignoring me, they go around and help everyone else but then my topic that's been up for three days with 130+ views still gets no response from them. so in the meantime I'm just sitting here only browsing the web and thinking about what I could do in vidya gams if my driver actually worked.

Hey, my friend is looking for a prebuilt PC for him and his family to use. Here are the criteria he wants:

-£500-£600
-Able to run games like Skyrim at possibly medium or so settings?
-The case to look normal, so no lights or "edgy" designs.

Please could you make any recommendations for what he should get?
Pageloss.

wait a bit longer for the rx460 or rx470

I think I'm gonna buy an RX 480 or two when they drop at the end of the month, it would be quite an upgrade to my 670

I think I wanna do this as well
it would be a massive upgrade over my stuffty ol' 560... Apparently it has around the performance of a stock 980.

I have a 780 Ti
at what point will it be reasonably worth it to upgrade. cus I have no idea how to judge graphics cards

you can either get a 1080/1070 and spend $500-$800 or wait for the 480 which is $200.

you can upgrade now I guess but I suggest waiting to see what the 480 can do

How much do those cost / how well do they preform?

well I'm not going to get an AMD card either way. I've grown rather attached to shadowplay
but I mean whether it's actually a big enough difference between mine and the 1080 to justify it, or if I should just wait until another generation

if you're getting a 10XX card then you might as well get the 1070 considering it's performance is amazing (mine runs like butter, that is when the drivers allow it to run), unless you have to budget to get a 1080 then go ahead.

just don't get one now, as I said the drivers are broken so I'm stuck to browsing the interwebs and staring at my Steam library

480 is already known to be $200, 470 is unknown but I'm guessing it'll be around $170-$140. And 480 is said to have the performance of a 980, although from the videos of it being used it looks like it doesn't render things all that well. But if you still want a cheap solution then go with the 480.
