do i need a soundcard for speakers? my dad bought me these weird bluetooth speakers last christmas and i don't know if i plug them into the big subwoofer or a soundcard or something
also do speakers need the subwoofer to work???
pretty sure you dont need a soundcard, the motherboard audio should do just fine
if they're bluetooth you may want to use a bluetooth dongle, or the better option would be if theres some sort of line in you can hook up your speakers to your mobo without any of that latency crap

Haven't got half the mind to look - anyone have suggestions for cheapo budget monitors? I don't have much left after a recent build, and I'm wondering if there's any salvation out there beyond buying and stripping screens from laptops in order to make monitors at the moment.
hp 22cwa is a decent 99 dollar monitor and its ips

My budget isn't that well padded at the moment. Thank you for the suggestion, though - do you have any others?

not really, the hp 22cwa is abut the best monitor you can get for 100, any less is gonna be TN, have horrible latency / resolution and more

oh and the hp is 1080p

So guys I also need a monitor and what I'd like from it is 1080p 60hz, 3/4 HDMI cables and probably 20 inches or over, I don't need the highest quality just good ones, any recommendations?

I scrapped the idea of just upgrading my computer and created a parts list, due to reasons I lowered my budget way down, I'm trying to keep it under $500
https://pcpartpicker.com/user/Peavy/saved/gWNmGX  what do you think?

nothing to complain about, looks solid

The gigabyte ds3h board only has 1 system fan header so the additional fan will be unusable (unless if its powered by molex)

What do you mean by 'powered by molex' exactly?
Scratch that, I looked into it and I know exactly what you mean, that's likely what I'll end up doing. I was considering a liquid cooling system but I'm not sure how trustworthy they are.

..the fan has a molex connector instead of a 4/3 pin perhaps?

I looked into it and found out what it is and I understand now.

they can be pretty good but costs a lot

finally got around to upgrading to the r5 1600. gonna keep it clocked at 3.2 for a while. my stock gtx 1070 went from running at like 40% of the expected performance with my old fx 8320e to a litte over 100% with this new chip. maybe now i can comfortably run fallout 4 with 250 mods lmao

Ey y'all remember this post I made a while ago

(huge bump I know)

idk why but I've always liked the way these fanless cards look (even that evga gt 710 2gb one)

Well apparently Nvidia silently released a new gpu, the GT 1030, and that aesthetic has been brought back! Also this card is dirt cheap and performs pretty good. It's 2gb and it performs better than the RX 550, at 10 dollars less (69.99 dollar USD). So holy hell new dirt-cheap budget gpu and is pretty good for the price

no dvi, bummer. it's still too soon to be dropping that.

Iirc you can get an hdmi to dvi connector due to both sending digital signals instead of brown townog

also some of the other GPU brands do have the DVI connector but sacrifice the Display Port connector for it
